Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:
- This position leads all financial planning and analysis activities in the Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei Core Labs (CRLB) business. This leader must also ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions & reporting, while also ensuring conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Corporate/ Division financial policies and procedures.
- The role is responsible for delivering sales & margin objectives for the 3 countries and providing strategic business support to the General Manager and commercial leadership team. The role is also a key member of the leadership team who is responsible for directing, guiding, and influencing the commercial organization to achieve the business outcomes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial analysis related to company projects and initiatives. Provide sound business and financial advice to Core Labs leadership. Lead the creation of all LBE and CMR P&L and balance sheet forecasts, ensuring reasonableness on an absolute and performance basis.
- Identify and implement improvements to streamline affiliate planning and reporting processes.
- Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports in compliance with Corporate Finance requirements.
- Lead and provide analysis of financial and balance sheet results. Provide meaningful business insights through the use of financial statements, KPI dashboards and other information sources.
- Continuously review and enhance analytics, tools and models to ensure relevant and meaningful financial data is available.
- Establish and maintain internal policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and minimized waste that will support accelerated business growth.
- Identify areas for improvement including revenue and margin enhancements, efficiencies and cost savings.
- Take an active role in understanding and advancing GMI projects for the region.
- Review and approve commitment of funds in accordance with Corporate Finance policies.
- Review and optimize deals to increase profitability for Abbott. Lead or participate in any ad hoc projects and requests from Regional Financial Controller and Country General Manager.
- Establish & maintain strong internal control environment to ensure all financial policies and procedures are strictly understood & complied with.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Fiinance.
- CPA/CA qualification
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in accounting and/or financial planning and analysis.
- Fluent in financial and business communications and can effectively express self and ideas across all levels of the organization.
- Experienced as a country finance lead is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a matrixed organization & deliver outcomes for the business and all relevant parties.
