Job Description

The US Specialty Forecasting Manager will provide end-to-end Volume and Revenue forecasts for select products included in US Specialty Care’s Gastrointestinal product portfolios. The Forecasting Manager will support the Specialty Finance Controller, Commercial VP, and their teams. This position is responsible for producing comprehensive analytics and presentations around all volume forecasts to AbbVie leadership for assigned products. Emphasis is placed on explaining the brand evolution/outlook to executive leadership, facilitating optimal decision making & investment in the marketplace, as well as providing precise financial guidance to stakeholders.

This role partners closely with Price Forecasting, Sales & Marketing, Market Access, Global Operations and Demand Planning teams.

This role will report to the US Specialty, Forecasting Sr. Manager (GI Care).

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Align with commercial business partners and finance leaders on pro-forma hypotheses for forecast assumptions, supported by quantitative evidence as well as qualitative insights on past and future market events.
  • Integrate hypotheses into forecast models, while ensuring the models are calibrated to provide the most precise outputs.
  • Partner with Global Operations and Demand Planning to ensure optimal supply of inventory to support financial forecasts, deliver max forecast scenarios, and be informed of supply chain strategies to improve distribution margin.
  • Partner with Price Forecasting and Market Access teams to ensure alignment on assumptions used to develop GTN (Gross to Net) rates to derive Net Sales.
  • Partner with MABI (Marketing Analytics and Business Insights) for patient and HCP (Health Care Practitioner) insights on market events, and ensure alignment on components of demand assumptions to pressure-test the volume forecast.
  • Load forecasts into required financial systems (BPC, TM1, ADS, etc.) to support consolidation for US Specialty, Global and Corporate Financial Reviews as well as Manufacturing/Operations production schedules.
  • Partner with the Finance and MABI teams to populate actuals data in the market and revenue models, while performing careful quality checks and asking analytical questions to ensure data integrity.
  • Complete key financial close schedules for a variety of stakeholders to demonstrate the financial results for monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal periods.
  • Triangulate the data described above and derive vital takeaways, trends, risks, and opportunities, highlighting them to leadership in a clear & concise manner, and leverage these insights into a more accurate forecast going forward.
  • Lead/participate in ad hoc analysis, projects and process improvements as needed.
  • Triangulate significant amounts of data and statistics from multiple sources, and build strong assumptions and hypotheses supported by the data.
  • Comfort working with large amounts of uncertainty through creative scenario modeling, data triangulation, and cross-functional collaboration to inform forecasting.
  • Driven to stay current with current market events by reviewing internal analysis and performing independent research.
  • Work and influence cross-functionally, driving tasks to consensus/closure while working independently, adjusting priorities as needed.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years progressive accounting, finance and/or forecasting + analytics experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, Finance or Accounting
  • Proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SAP and BPC a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
