Job Description
Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, Executive Recruitment creates and implements strategic and proactive talent acquisition strategies with full stakeholder buy-in and participation to ensure that AbbVie attracts, sources, and recruits the strongest executive talent. This role requires developing and implementing creative and innovative recruiting strategies and techniques to fill VP level roles and builds a pipeline of talent for future leadership positions within AbbVie. Offers a differentiated recruiting experience for hiring leaders and candidates across all AbbVie functions (R&D, Commercial, Operations and Corporate Staff Functions), partnering closely with senior leadership and stakeholders.
This position will work a hybrid work schedule from the Lake County, IL AbbVie location.
Requirements:
- Set recruitment strategies for AbbVie at VP levels.
- Lead effective sourcing strategies, practices and standards that provide high quality experiences for talent that interacts with the AbbVie EVP brand and internal employees through proactive outreach and exploratory discussions. Lead recruitment process, plan and manage projects, balancing competing priorities and resources.
- Build strong partnerships with the experienced TA team leaders, Talent Management, Executive Development, Business HR, and business leaders across the organization in order to understand trends, business needs, succession planning/gaps, and external talent to deliver solutions that support positive business results.
- Partner in the identification and prioritization of current and future talent needs, and the deployment of sourcing strategies to meet business needs.
- Develop and deploy diversity sourcing strategies that increase representation on candidate slates, and ultimately building high performing diverse teams at AbbVie.
- Regularly assess future talent needs and partner with business and finance to ensure budgets are in place to support sourcing demands.
- Manage and influence senior level business and functional leaders to ensure overall business objectives are met and the resources needed to source talent are secured.
- Develop and implement best practices to ensure compliance with local regulations and sourcing practices.
- Creates and maintains an environment of equal employment opportunity, bringing unique diverse sources of talent to the sourcing strategies in an effort to meet AbbVie’s Equality Equity Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
- Conduct assessments on best-in-class sourcing and metrics for benchmarking against other top talent acquisition functions across multiple industries.
Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required with a preferred focus in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar career. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years of progressive HR experience in large, global environments.
- Five (5) or more years in global talent acquisition or sourcing role.
- Significant experience in managing multiple tasks and projects related to the HR field as well as project management knowledge and skills.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
