Job Description

The Content Design Manager is responsible for the creation and maintenance of high-quality learning solutions. This individual takes a leadership role in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of training materials and programs. This position involves close collaboration with AEI leaders and associates throughout the organization to ensure that learning solutions are accurate, comprehensive, and applicable to the needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes information from subject matter experts to design materials and content, including online learning modules, Training Guides and Job Aids, and Instructor-led training materials, incorporating adult learning principles to deliver training in an effective manner

  • Ensures training materials and modules compliment and support long-term training strategy and business needs

  • Plays a leading role in the development of instructional design principles, standards, and guidelines as applicable

  • Assures compliance with applicable corporate and departmental policies and procedures

  • Manages design projects with a variety of scopes, including those outsourced to vendors, by collaborating with stakeholders to determine the goals and to develop a plan to execute the solution to successful and timely completion. This role manages and delegates responsibilities to other team members, contractors, and vendors.

  • Serves as a mentor and trainer for new team members and provides oversight and guidance related to design skills and content knowledge for new team members where applicable. Provides feedback to team leadership on employee development progress.

  • Stays current on innovative training approaches and technologies; recommends new tools to leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Training & Development or related discipline required. Advanced degree in said discipline(s) preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years design and development experience in a professional setting required. 2+ years of Leadership/Supervisory experience in a professional environment required

  • Demonstrated instructional design and development skills, including needs analysis, design and development methodologies, application of adult learning principles, and evaluation

  • Demonstrated project management skills and proven ability to lead projects from needs analysis through evaluation

  • Experience with eLearning technology and authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Suite, video editing software, and other related applications

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills required, along with excellent organizational skills

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment preferred

  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks/assignments, meet deadlines and act with the flexibility and initiative to thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing needs

  • Ability to effectively influence and develop constructive and deep relationships with leaders, subject matter experts, and other business partners

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
