The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership in developing and delivering key strategies, system functionality, and support within one of AbbVie’s Manufacturing regions. This position offers strategic and tactical BTS leadership to achieve business and enterprise objectives, including business technology roadmaps that drive essential solutions.
Key responsibilities encompass thought leadership, transformative strategy development, collaboration with stakeholders, daily operations management, and an enterprise mindset to solve end-to-end business challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the regional Global Business Capabilities Roadmap, steering the BTS strategy for the region.
- Collaborate with Regional BTS Directors and capability owners to align cross-functional business capabilities roadmaps.
- Proactively identify and advance strategic business process improvement opportunities with executive leadership.
- Provide industry expertise and benchmarking.
- Foster innovation and develop plans for next-generation solutions within the organization.
- Lead the Solutions Architecture community.
- Implement communication and change management strategies.
- Deliver executive communications effectively.
- Manage a team of managers and senior managers with significant autonomy in their assignments.
- Make impactful decisions that influence the future course of business and technology domains.
- Contribute to the domain resource management strategy and organizational structure.
- Build collaborative relationships and frequently interact with senior business and technology leaders.
- Exemplify Abbvie's Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes, emphasize an enterprise mindset and people leadership, manage performance, provide feedback, recognize achievements, develop talent, and establish a succession pipeline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education with 10+ years of experience; Master's degree and pharmaceutical industry experience preferred. Equivalent experience of 14+ years in a related technical field considered.
- Ability to align employee and BTS functional goals with business or overall AbbVie goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to enhance employee performance and engagement through effective coaching, motivating, and inspiring teams.
- Experience managing teams of at least 10 people across diverse resource mixes including managers, matrixed teams, virtual teams, contractors, and managed service providers.
- Skills to communicate complex problems in understandable terms to BTS Leadership and end users at all levels.
- Subject matter expertise in technology and/or business domain.
- Experience managing a budget of at least $10 million.
- Preferred experience in technology operation, strategy, planning, implementation, or relevant business domains.
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 9 years’ experience; PhD with 5 years’ experience.
