We are recruiting a Microbiologist to join our team on site in Manorhamilton Road, Sligo.

In your role as a Microbiologist, you will be responsible for providing an effective microbiological service to the plant ensuring that biological and environmental monitoring procedures are met and ensuring that Microbiological Laboratory is organized to carry out all routine microbiological testing.

What you will do:

  • Maintain and comply with Laboratory Documentation and Computerized Systems Data Integrity requirements.
  • Carry out environmental and product microbiological tests as required.
  • Define and update procedures for plant relative to microbiological and environmental testing.
  • Train laboratory staff in operational tests.
  • Carry out training as per training plan.
  • Validation of equipment and test methods for microbiological tests.
  • Test method transfer of microbiological methods.
  • Develop microbiological laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete and precise records of all tests performed.
  • Adheres to and supports all EHS & E standards, procedures and policies.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 3rd level qualification in Microbiology or related area
  • Understanding of regulations and business processes required to maintain Laboratory Data Integrity.
  • A good knowledge of aseptic processes manipulation together with experience within a GLP/GMP environment and knowledge of current EU/FDA/ICH/HPRA guidelines.
  • Industry experience is desirable
