About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Senior or Principal Scientist to play a leading role in the identification, evaluation, and adoption of current and emerging technologies in upstream bioprocessing.
This role is ideal for an experienced scientist who is passionate about driving innovation and exploring groundbreaking technologies. The successful candidate will focus on scouting and implementing new technologies, scientific tools, platforms, and methodologies to support the business and organization.
About the Department
The Technology Adoption and Innovation team is part of the newly established Process Science and Technology Department. The main purpose of the department is to support new business opportunities, evaluate new technologies and provide scientific support to operations, of which the technology and innovation aspect is the primary function of the team.
Your Primary tasks will include:
Identify, evaluate, and recommend promising technologies that align with company goals.
Lead efforts to bring new technologies into the organization by conducting feasibility studies, coordinating pilot studies, and driving implementation.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new scientific capabilities, tools, and platforms into existing workflows, enhancing productivity and effectiveness.
Act as an internal scientific advisor, guiding teams on potential applications, advantages, and limitations of emerging technologies.
Build and maintain relationships with academic, industrial, and governmental partners to access and learn about novel technologies and approaches.
Present findings, technology evaluations, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Support Business Development for potential client presentations if required.
Provide technical sparring to other teams and departments and provide ad-hoc support to projects and project challenges.
Your Qualifications :
Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in biotechnology or related fields.
Deep knowledge of areas within bioprocessing, especially upstream processing, and understanding of the implementation and implications for introduction of new technologies into bioprocessing industry for production of clinical and commercial biologics.
Passion for exploring new technologies, with the ability to quickly understand and assess their scientific and practical value.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex scientific ideas for various audiences.
This position requires direct, hands-on experience in an upstream laboratory setting and a readiness to engage in wet lab work if needed
Familiarity with automation technologies, data science, or computational biology is a plus.
