Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the logistics operations within the organization. This role involves ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, onsite position offers a day shift Monday-Friday schedule with opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipments, deliveries, and inventory levels.
  • Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation companies to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents, invoices, and other related paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of logistics policies and procedures and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prioritize critical action items and orders.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed, including procurement and customer service.
  • Handle sensitive materials, including finished, intermediate, and hazardous items.

Qualifications

  • Some higher education or logistics training/certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of proven experience in logistics environment, that could include either, coordinating shipping products, or activities that include the warehouse floor such as picking or sorting products.
  • Experience as a logistics coordinator a plus!
  • Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply 5S/Lean manufacturing principles, highly desired.
  • Experience operating specialized machinery, such as forklifts and vertical order-pickers, also a plus.
  • Knowledge of and ability to recommend process improvements and deviations highly desired.
  • Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours and lift up to 30 lbs.
