Job Description Summary

As the Senior Product Manager, Instruments, you will manage commercial activities of Akoya’s PhenoCycler and PhenoImager instrument portfolio. The incumbent will be customer-focused and will bring a passion for pioneering methods in next-generation tools for quantitative multiplexed imaging analysis, good business acumen and the ability to perform in a rapidly moving environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Product Vision: This role owns all aspects of the PhenoCycler and PhenoImager systems product roadmap and manages all product requirements in coordination with Reagents, Assay, Applications, Software and Hardware development teams as well as communicate the product vision to management and product development teams
  • Lead Product Requirement Definition: Collect customer feedback and drive the voice of customer projects to identify new product features and requirements
  • Lead interaction with Development teams: Help translate the voice of customer requirements to product specifications with the R&D development teams to ensure prioritized tradeoffs and performance
  • Generate portfolio roadmap: Collaborates with other Product Managers and R&D to lead strategic planning and generate PhenoCycler and PhenoImager systems portfolio roadmap
  • Lead Product Commercialization: In collaboration with other commercial functions, drive the product commercialization and develop go-to-market strategies
  • Lead Product Sustaining: Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Support, Operations and other teams to develop and execute strategic plans and projects for continued product growth and adoption
  • Lead Competitive Strategy: Responsible for competitive assessment and generating competitive strategy to meet Akoya business goals
  • Commercial Product Representative: Work closely with global sales and marketing teams to develop and implement positioning and messaging, pricing & promotion, sales collateral, training materials, and other sales enablement programs to achieve revenue targets
  • Generate customer-facing collateral: Partner with R&D and marketing programs to develop and deploy user collateral and marketing content generated from R&D and external collaborations

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Life Sciences related field
  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience with product development or commercial life sciences
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the life sciences industry with a preferred background in microscopy, immuno-oncology and bioinformatics analysis
  • Familiarity with product development process and strong technical background
  • Experience with phased gate product development methodologies and tools
  • Ability to manage multiple activities / deliverables and prioritize accordingly
  • Robust analytical skills, paired with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a broad project team, including hardware engineers, software engineers, biologists, chemists, marketing and sales teams, and other commercial representatives
  • Other duties as assigned

The hiring range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
