Overview

The Facilities Operations Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Norton manufacturing site central utility plant and GMP manufacturing equipment. Monitors plant conditions and responds to alarms for building systems, utilities, process equipment and warehouse/storage areas. This role will also support routine building operations and shutdowns as needed. Support solvent unloads and waste off-loads according to SOPs as needed. Maintains logs and required documentation as applicable. Maintains spare parts inventory. Aids in the development of standard operating procedures and lock out tag out plans/activities. The Sr Facilities Technician must be available to perform on-call coverage and/or rotating shift coverage to support operations, as required.

This position is onsite and will be primarily located at our Norton, MA facility.

This is a rotating shift, 10 hour days 2pm ET until 12am ET. Working every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This shift will alternate every other Monday and Friday. This position will also cover other shifts as needed including day and night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support of plant operations during second/night shift including the operation and maintenance of utility systems, tank farm, and process equipment.
  • Responsible for alarm response and remediation as well as trouble call triage.
  • Position will be responsible for the safe startup, operation, and shutdown of various utility systems at the Norton Manufacturing site.
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained through adherence to environmental and health safety guidelines and policies.
  • Support installation, repair, and troubleshooting for a wide range of equipment and instrumentation used for all functions of a cGMP facility.
  • Perform scheduled, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing support equipment.
  • Ensure timely review of records and reviewing work to ensure it is performed accurately and in compliance.
  • Responsible for the operational readiness of the plant working closely with peers ensuring deficiencies are resolved and with completeness.
  • Capable of full participation in an onsite Chemical Spill Emergency Response team including being able to utilize respiratory protection and being able to successfully complete required medical clearances to utilize personal protective equipment while performing strenuous activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 6-10 years of related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of building utility systems.
  • Previous experience in a cGMP environment is a plus.
  • Experience documenting work in a CMMS preferable.
  • Familiarity with documentation practices used in a GMP environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Wastewater treatment license (or ability to obtain).
  • Boiler operator’s license (Desirable but not required).
  • 24 Hour HAZWOPER Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Capable of working in environments requiring use of increased personal protective equipment including chemical containment suits and respiratory protection
