In this vital role you will help transform the Process Development (PD) portfolio prioritization capability as part of the Integrated Portfolio Advancement (IPA) organization. The IPA group within PD is responsible for enabling advancement of Amgen’s portfolio of commercial and pipeline assets through integrated planning and execution. We partner with the Product Delivery Teams across all stages of commercialization to optimize the pipeline portfolio through Data Collection and Analysis, Project Management, Capability and Capacity Management, and Prioritization Alignment. Working closely with Operations Therapeutic Area Heads, CMCi, and PD senior leaders across the functions, the Sr Project Manager will help develop and implement a new, more agile framework for strategic PD portfolio prioritization while serving as the digital Prodcut Owner (PO) for PDs project and portfolio management solution, Planisware. The Sr Project Manager within the Knowledge Advancement and Insights team (KAI) partners with thought leaders across Operations to develop and embed digital capabilities and businss process that bring together critical real-time data on resourcing, timelines, program strategy, and key performance indicators.

  • Drive solutions to complex business problems by leading in-depth requirements gathering and analysis to identify value-add capabilities with support of key decision makers

  • Inter-connect new strategic capabilities within expanding technology ecosystem

  • Serve as product owner/ambassador for digital solutions driving project and portfolio management within PD (i.e. Planisware)

  • Provide working oversight to technical team in close partnership with DTI leveraging SAFe Agile principles, practices, and ceremonies

  • Partner with thought leaders across Operations, R&D and Commercial to understand corporate and functional prioritization approaches and data sources to support PD prioritization

  • Drive organizational and business change management efforts

  • Leverage network to identify and effectively translate business value/opportunity to inform digital product roadmap

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of project management experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of project management experience OR

  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of project management experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically while managing various team member perspectives

  • Strong analytical and Project Management ability with an eye for data quality

  • Ability to develop and effectively present ideas and information to executive level leadership

  • Embody and advance a culture of continuous improvement and diversity, inclusion, and belonging

  • SAFe Agile methodology and scrum ways of working

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

138,693.00 USD - 165,496.00 USD
