Compliance Manager - Business Conduct Hotline Triage Lead
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will responsible for managing and overseeing the intake, evaluation, and initial processing of whistleblower reports. This role ensures timely, confidential, and thorough triage of reports while adhering to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards. The role involves close collaboration with legal, compliance, HR, and investigative teams to safeguard the integrity of the whistleblowing process. In addition, the lead also supports the development of and building of reports. This role will represent the user community and partner with Amgen vendors and the internal technical team on solution lifecycle activities. This role reports to Director or ED Investigations.
Business Conduct Hotline and Incident Management Program lead within Amgen’s Worldwide Compliance and Business Ethics department. The role requires a high-level of discretion and sensitivity, and involves significant database maintenance and report generation including the day-to-day handling and management of reports submitted to the incident management tool, including those received through the Hotline; developing and building quarterly reports and metrics related to the incident management system for Quarterly SOX reviews; reviewing trend analyses, dashboards, and ageing reports. It is the primary point of contact with vendors supporting the incident management tool; represent the user community and partner with vendors and the internal technical team on solution life cycle activities. This role also requires evolving updating of Triage Sheet Guidance & reviewing and Approving Invoices related to BCH. Additionally, collaborating with Training and Communications regarding BCH Speak-up program and updating Infographic and translations. This role needs to be able to work with multiple geographies, and manage competing timelines effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership and Oversight:
- Lead the whistleblower triage team, providing guidance and support.
- Develop and implement standardized triage protocols and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality and anti-retaliation policies.
Whistleblower Report Management:
- Oversee the intake process for all whistleblower reports through designated channels (e.g., hotline, email, web portals).
- Assess the nature, urgency, and potential risks associated with reports.
- Prioritize reports based on predefined risk and severity criteria.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, HR, Compliance) to allocate reports to the appropriate investigative function.
- Act as a liaison to ensure consistent communication while maintaining confidentiality.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop and update whistleblower policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor emerging regulations and industry standards to adapt processes accordingly.
Training and Awareness:
- Train team members and other stakeholders on whistleblower policies, ethical reporting, and triage procedures.
- Promote a culture of openness and integrity across the organization.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Maintain accurate records of whistleblower reports and actions taken.
- Generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and areas of concern.
- Provide insights to improve risk management and organizational transparency.
Confidentiality and Ethical Standards:
- Ensure all interactions and investigations respect the anonymity and safety of whistleblowers.
- Promote trust and accountability in all aspects of the triage process.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Or
Master’s degree & 2 years of Compliance, Regulatory or Legal Experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 4years of Compliance, Regulatory or Legal experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 8 years of Compliance, Regulatory or Legal experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Compliance, Regulatory or Legal experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technology skills and comfort using various systems, including Excel (especially pivot charts, formatting, and chart-building), web-based tools including SharePoint, and technology tools (e.g. SFTP/MoveIT platforms, Tableau, SAS, etc). Experience with analytics-based technology is preferred.
- Solution lifecycle skills including business analysis and project management, including requirement gathering and prioritization, business process gap analysis and diagraming, developing and maintaining SOPs and user manuals, solution testing and issue troubleshooting, communicating to collaborators (users and management), and business roadmap development.
- Project management and organizational skills in order to effectively track and manage the volume of reports submitted from both inside and outside the US.
- Ability to be flexible and to quickly analyze a situation in order to adapt to a constantly changing environment, have a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, efficiently, and with minimal supervision
- Ability to be discrete and to maintain a high level of confidentiality

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
