Global Commercial Diagnostics Director, Precision Medicine
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role the Global Director, Companion Diagnostics (CDx), will lead and support the commercial success of companion diagnostic and biomarker advancement at Amgen. Amgen has a diverse and rapidly advancing oncology portfolio and this is a critical role within the Global Oncology Commercial Organization supporting the launch indications. The role will be responsible for the launch strategy of diagnostics, working across the portfolio on global value and access and working in partnership with key laboratories. You will work closely with the Precision Medicine Development team, Product Team and Brand Working teams. You will own the development and endorsement of the Diagnostic Global Brand Plan across indications working closely with diagnostic partners.
Responsibilities
Commercial lead for the Diagnostic Launch Team which will develop and implement the Diagnostic Launch Strategy
Work closely with diagnostic partners to establish a ‘win-win’ relationship
Collaborate with country affiliates to implement and execute the diagnostic strategy
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve value and access of diagnostics worldwide through partnership with key organizations
Bring innovative ideas and solutions to solve barriers to routine diagnostic testing
Be accountable for achieving business goals with Every Patient, Every Time mentality
Synthesizes customer insights to inform short- and long-term strategy and integrates customer-specific research needs into strategic planning
Serve as the subject matter expert of commercial diagnostic knowledge through active engagement with external partners, pathology partnerships, professional laboratory, medical organizations, and internal stakeholders
Build a culture of subject matter expertise, collaboration and patient-centricity within the Commercial Diagnostics team
Expected travel (domestic and international) is ~20%

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience
OR
Master’s degree and 7 years of marketing experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic/lab experience
4+ years of commercial drug development and companion diagnostics (CDx) experience
Launch experience of oncology diagnostics with a strong understanding of the global molecular testing diagnostics environment including key labs, lab systems, market landscape and offer technical expertise
Experience working in a global role with experience in at least one country
Experience with a broad base of external customers, including patients, payers, and HCPs (especially pathologists)
Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate commercial and competitive implications of complex technical/clinical/regulatory data
Interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, active listening, and relationship management skills
Ability to work confidently in a cross-functional team and build effective internal partnerships
Leadership skills, including the ability to influence teams with a diverse set of backgrounds
Competitive mentality, including the ability to champion ideas, make decisions, and goal oriented focus and results driven

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
