Technical BA/Testing Engineer

What you will do

In this vital role you will be the Technical Business Analyst/Testing Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that software, systems and integrations meet quality standards and function as intended. This hybrid role requires a strong analytical approach, good communication skills, and a deep understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), especially in agile environments. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, writing user stories, and developing and implementing test cases to ensure the quality of product delivery. This position involves a mix of business analysis and testing responsibilities, including both manual and testing. The role requires collaboration with development teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Business Analysis:

  • Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and developers to gather and analyze business and technical requirements.

  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.

  • Develop process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and supporting documentation to communicate functionality and workflows.

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding throughout the development lifecycle.

Testing Engineering:

  • Design, document, and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and system requirements.

  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, unit, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Work closely with software engineers to understand system architecture and behavior in order to develop effective test strategies.

  • Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure system reliability, usability, and accuracy.

  • Identify, document, and track system bugs, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement using tracking tools.

  • Analyze testing outcomes and provide reports with insights and recommendations for issue resolution or enhancement.

  • Participate in performance and load testing to validate system scalability and responsiveness under expected conditions.

  • Support testing tool development and script maintenance to ensure testing coverage remains current and effective.

  • Engage in technical discussions and code walkthroughs to provide feedback on functionality and implementation from a validation perspective.

  • Ensure deliverables meet technical standards and align with business objectives and any relevant compliance or regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR

  • Diploma and 7 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills

  • Requirements Analysis & Documentation

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and clearly document business and technical requirements through user stories, workflows, and specifications.

  • Test Planning & Execution

  • Skilled in designing and implementing detailed test plans and test cases across different testing types, including functional, integration, and unit testing.

  • SQL & Data Validation

  • Proficient in writing SQL queries to validate data, perform backend testing, and ensure data integrity across systems.

  • Stakeholder Communication

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with developers, product managers, and non-technical stakeholders.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of how different systems interact and exchange data, including the ability to work with interfaces or data exchange formats.

  • General awareness of how automation can be used to streamline testing or repetitive tasks, even if not hands-on with specific tools.

  • Comfort with iterative development processes and collaborating in multi-functional teams using frameworks like Agile or Scrum.

Professional Certifications:

  • SAFe® for Teams certification (preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully

  • Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals

Shift Information:

This position requires you to work a later shift and will be assigned to the second shift. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening shifts, as required based on business requirements.
