Apellis Pharmaceuticals is seeking a dynamic Lead Talent Partner for our Commercial, Medical, and General & Administrative functions. In this role, you will be the Lead Talent Acquisition (TA) Partner for our Commercial, Medical, and General & Administrative teams, driving the full-cycle recruitment process with a proactive and strategic approach. As a true TA partner, you will need to understand Apellis’ unique business strategy, leverage data and technology to understand market trends to source and secure top talent and be focused on creating strong collaborative relationships with business leaders and HR colleagues.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Partner strategically with business leaders to understand and proactively address their hiring needs for Commercial, Medical, and G&A functions.
- Lead full life-cycle recruiting efforts, from sourcing and screening to interviewing, offer negotiation, and pre-onboarding.
- Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies to build a strong pipeline of passive and active candidates, focusing on quality hires who can excel and grow within the organization.
- Support the implementation of a talent review and succession planning strategy, in partnership with the Commercial & Medical HR Business Partner, identifying critical skills and potential gaps within the organization.
- Use data and analytics to tell compelling recruiting stories, providing insights and trends to drive informed hiring manager decision-making.
- Collaborate with the compensation team to design and present attractive, competitive offer packages that align with market trends and candidate expectations.
- Conduct value-based interviewing and selection processes to ensure candidates are a strong fit for Apellis’ culture and business needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, HR business partners, and executive leadership, serving as a trusted advisor on all talent acquisition matters.
- Manage candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a positive and engaging journey from application to onboarding.
- Ensure data integrity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruiting systems, leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay current on market trends, technology, industry developments, and competitive intelligence to continually refine and enhance recruiting strategies.
- Represent Apellis at industry events, career fairs, and networking opportunities to build the company’s employer brand and attract top talent.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, with a strong background in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience recruiting for Commercial & Medical, with a track record of successfully hiring field-based positions.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining pipelines of high-quality candidates through proactive sourcing and networking.
- Experience using data and analytics to inform recruiting strategies and decision-making.
- Strong understanding of incentive compensation structures and the ability to articulate compelling offers to candidates.
- Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools; Greenhouse experience preferred.

Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to Apellis’s headquarters and other locations as needed.
