Join us as a Facilities & Engineering Sr. Director, where you will be directing the Facilities & Engineering department at a new commercial scale cell therapy manufacturing facility. This role is critical to the success of AstraZeneca and the site, by ensuring timely, technologically efficient support for consistent and robust operations.

What you will do:

  • Build a team to lead and execute engineering, facilities, site services, maintenance, and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) operations at the site.

  • As a member of the Site Leadership Team, collaborate with partner functions to ensure facility operations meet patient cell therapy manufacturing needs

  • Partner closely with Global Engineering to ensure delivery of a new commercial scale cell therapy facility that meets Quality, scope, timing, and budget needs for the operation

  • Be accountable for site SHE operations, including sustainability efforts, and collaborate with partner functions to ensure a safe working environment for all

  • Coordinate outside contract support for internal and external site operations for a commercial scale GMP cell therapy facility.

  • Prepare, execute, and oversee capital and operating budgets

  • Be accountable for capital project management

  • Direct the operation of the site utilities, including technical responsibility for support all manufacturing, lab, warehouse, and office areas.

  • Oversee site energy conservation efforts. Help identify and ensure proper management of projects that offer significant financial savings from an energy usage and conservation standpoint.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree with a minimum of 20 years of relevant work experience in a cGMP facility

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in a cGMP facility

  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant work experience in a cGMP facility

  • Proven leadership promoting motivation and empowering others to accomplish individual, team, and organizational objectives.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional working groups and teams; demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets, and project initiatives in a global and regional environment.

  • Proven negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal leadership skills

  • Budgetary and resource management planning experience

  • Conceptual, analytical, and strategic thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in building a cell therapy Facilities and Engineering organization.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in cell therapy Facilities including management experience strongly preferred.
