Job Title: Senior Specialist - Business Planning & Operations

Introduction to Role:

Join our dynamic Business Planning & Operations (BPO) team within Data Management (DM) at AstraZeneca. We are responsible for the optimal conduct of operational aspects of the business, including Quality & Compliance, Process & Documentation, Training and Learning, and more. Our team is a key part of Clinical Data and Insights (CDI), ensuring that key business processes are provided and managed successfully.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Specialist, you will work with other members of BPO to support the implementation of strategic goals for business processes, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also support and/or lead initiatives for DM, including planning and implementation with guidance from senior personnel within BPO. Additionally, you will serve as a delegate for Director/Associate Director for specific tasks or activities, as necessary.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • University degree, or equivalent experience

  • Experience from within the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research organization

  • Ability to understand business strategy and goals

  • Ability to solve problems that involve many decision makers and develop multiple options/recommendations

  • Demonstrated project management experience from drug and/or non-drug projects

  • Proven ability to work with multiple customers and on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong relationships

  • Excellent collaboration required – needs the energy to work across global & functional boundaries both internally and externally

  • Team player

  • Experience in facilitation preferable

  • Proven flexibility, teamwork, and analytical skill

  • Ability to manage competing priorities within tight timelines, when required
