Introduction to Role:

Join our brave originators at Alexion, a part of AstraZeneca's Rare Disease division, where we are committed to transforming the lives of people affected by rare diseases and devastating conditions. As the Sr. Manager, Diagnostics Alliance & Portfolio Management, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing disease-specific diagnostic strategies and plans. You will manage the strategic and operational planning and decision-making processes on behalf of Alexion’s Diagnostic Center of Excellence (Dx CoE), and work closely with external collaborations to further our mission.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing diagnostic development projects, maintaining project schedules, organizing project team meetings, and identifying risks and mitigation plans. You will apply project management best practices in the planning, alignment, initiation, execution, control, and closing of projects. Additionally, you will oversee legal agreements in process and manage budgets and spending.

Essential Skills/Experience:

- Ph.D.& minimum of 5- 8 years related experience (may include post-doc experience) or Master’s degree with 8-10 years related experience. Degree and experience in sciences or related fields preferred

- Minimum 2 years experience in diagnostic development projects/programs in diagnostic or pharmaceutical industry with at least 3 years of managing complex projects

- Excellent written and verbal skills and strong interpersonal skills

- Understanding of the processes in diagnostic/companion diagnostic development including phase/gate development process, Design control and regulatory requirements

- Must be well organized and have strong attention to detail with an ability to deal with competing priorities; high level of problem solving capability and business acumen

- Demonstrated ability to provide effective program management excellence

- Technical proficiency in the use of program planning tools and systems

- High level of proficiency in MS Office software including: Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint

- Project Management Institute (PMI) qualifications or similar formal training preferred

- MBA would be a plus
