Senior Specialist, Feasibility & Analytics (SSFA) role is dedicated to Oncology R&D to ensure therapeutic knowledge balanced with data source expertise, analytics and technical skills.

Aligned within Feasibility and Portfolio Delivery (FPD) function, the SSFA provides historical and industry benchmark data to support data driven feasibility, and site identification for early to late stage medicines development across Oncology R&D. In addition, the SSFA supports analysis of all data used for planning and execution of clinical trials, including feasibility data, benchmark, site and country as and clinical operations performance analytics.

SSFA is also responsible for the development and maintenance of business intelligence dashboards as well as acting as the functional expert for data sources and systems used, including novel technologies (AI/ML).

Partnering with key stakeholders within R&D, TA leads and country SMM Oncology teams to enable expedited, predictive delivery for all stages of global feasibility and portfolio delivery, ensuring standardization in use of data, tools and process to inform quality decision making at TA, indication, program and study levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support FPD in data driven feasibility taking into consideration unique needs of indication, patient population, study and business priorities. Responsibilities may include:

    • Conduct desktop feasibility (competing landscape, country analysis, recruitment analysis) leveraging relevant internal and external data sources

    • Provide visualization of incidence / prevalence data and treatment pattern

    • Extraction of DQS site performance data for integration with Merlin

    • Curation and metanalysis of data from MERLIN and Feasibility data product

    • Analysis of feasibility data from external or internal and development of dashboards and visualizations using technology solutions e.g. Power BI

    • Share and re-use best practices to ensure efficiency and standardization of services

  • Support business by enabling curation of feasibility and business performance data from internal and external systems and development of visualizations and dashboards:

    • Maintain feasibility tracker including entry of data for allocations/re-allocations (countries, site and patients)

    • Support development and maintenance of data dashboards Dashboard to ensure portfolio line of sight and delivery tracking

    • Support ad-hoc requests from business for portfolio, country, site performance analysis

    • Proactively identifies new opportunities for data utilization to optimize study delivery

  • Maintain country and feasibility contacts list

  • Support SMM Onc in centralization and administration of feasibility and business performance data, and other process training materials and toolkits, in FPD SPOL to ensure broad access across R&D

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within R&D for data, sources, systems

  • Support EHR/RWD site identification process

  • Contribute to innovation projects and continuous process improvement within Oncology Clinical Operations, including integration of novel technologies such as AI and ML
    Maintains awareness of marketplace activities, policies, trends, technology, new data sources and information affecting the business and organization to support continued improvement of clinical recruitment efforts adhering to company policies.

  • Serve as administrator for systems and data sources used by FPD by managing user training, user accounts and access, distributing monthly newsletters and outage notifications, liaising with AZ system owner and MERLIN product team to manage implementation of new content, features, and functionality

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field (e.g. life sciences, business management, project management)

  • 2+ yrs experience in Drug Development and Feasibility in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Proven experience in data analysis of clinical trial operational performance data, and activities involving technical skills

  • Proven experience in project and budget management of clinical trial resource planning

  • Proven experience working with Global teams in a virtual environment

  • Experience in AZ core Therapeutic Areas/Indication

Desirables:

  • New product development experience within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Proven project/program management or other complex/cross-border management experience

  • Proven experience working with partners, CROs/AROs

  • IT/IS experience
