We are looking for a Senior Operations Finance Director for our new state-of-the-art facility in Singapore, a ~$1.5 billion investment which will support the delivery of our rapidly advancing portfolio of the next-generation targeted cancer therapies - Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC).

This is a new modality, in a new geographical location utilising a new green-space footprint to manage the first E2E ADC plant, operating under a new legal entity. This program will have high visibility across most senior AZ groups given the impact and contribution to our 2030 vision.

The new Senior Operations Finance Director will need to shape the role and financial landscape, and contribute to every important decision made to ensure the most optimal plant/brand set up, providing expert scenario modelling. You will be an effective business strategist, whilst also leading the technical set up, plus shaping and then managing the BAU financials which will be evolving. We’re looking for someone who will find a start-up environment and the exposure exciting, having the proactive nature to make things happen and influence teams across a global organisation to set this up for success.

Typical Accountabilities

Drive strategic financial analysis and support to the ADC Leadership Team throughout the program to ensure the most optimal BAU set up, such as:

  • Develop financial scenarios evaluating different CAPEX investments or cost comparisons and present findings to the LT. Scenario modelling of decisions to represent financial trade-offs.
  • Collaborate with GCS&S on strategic brand decisions and any transitions between external vs internal supply.
  • Collaborate with the ADC LT and AZ Finance teams on the build of a new site / brand and provide financial expertise to decision making.
  • Prepare for and present multiple presentations to senior AZ groups.

Drive timely execution of technical set up requirements such as:

  • Providing or gathering inputs to any design questions arising during the SAP build.

  • Supporting the master data definitions and raising any data requests that need to go through BAU routes.

  • Responsible for managing the setup and test of key financial processes for the site. (Product costing, site cost centre hierarchy, intercompany, vendor data master).

  • Facilitating any end user testing for Operations.

  • Business readiness activities - E.g. gathering end user details, supporting mapping or roles, any Ops/local comms, user training, local procedures etc.

  • Coordinating the overall new entity set-up plan across impacted functions - HR (payroll), Procurement, etc.

Manage financial aspects of the deal and audit agreements, ensuring compliance with internal and external parties, such as:

  • Oversee the statutory reporting of the entity as well as the reporting expected to the different government agencies.

  • Develop a governance process alongside the AZ GERE team for the review of the site build expenses and the management of all the documentation to meet the Singapore government reporting and audit requirements.

  • Manage the relationship with the Singapore Economic Development Board.

Serve as the Senior ADC Finance Director, responsible for shaping and governing the new financial framework and reporting:

  • Shape and then lead monthly financial reporting across statutory / management / P&L / B.S, ensuring 100% accuracy and providing insight through business and financial stakeholder groups.

  • Responsible for the development and management of the ADC project budget and forecast.

  • Build and have oversight over a robust financial control environment, aligned with FCC&G, and lead formal annual formal assessments and reviews.

  • Shape and develop the GFS team that will be dedicated to the Singapore ADC site.

  • Grow embedded finance team when required.

  • High level of spending due diligence and challenge, especially across capital requirements.

Essential Skills Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent business experience.

  • Six to ten years of progressively responsible experience for a major company’s manufacturing operation.

  • Proven experience of change management linked to enterprise wide transformations; leading the business through significant change and driving a matrix organisation to deliver.

  • Demonstrated success building cross-functional global networks and stakeholder management.

  • Excellent communication, particularly in regard to presenting the results of analyses to management.

  • In-depth understanding of Operations manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to use a range of influencing techniques.

  • Ability to create something new from scratch with ambiguity.

  • Can work in the detail with the finance LT to ensure the financials are set up and managed correctly globally whilst working on high level strategic decisions with the ADC LT.
