Introduction to role

The Business Intelligence Manager is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Strategic Data Management & Information Delivery team at Alexion. This role will be responsible for building data-centric omnichannel reporting and insights for promotional and non-promotional programs across all digital channels. You will design solutions to derive actionable insights to improve business outcomes. Along with Omnichannel Analytics, handle reporting and analytics requests for US Commercial HQ and Field, across commercial products in the US.

Accountabilities

- Partner closely with the Digital Marketing, Omnichannel strategy, Analytics & Insights, and key internal commercial team and external cross-functional partners to plan and implement Omnichannel Data and Reporting/Analytics projects that support ongoing Omnichannel strategy and other Commercial insight/Analytics needs
- Partner closely with commercial insights and cross-functional teams to ensure integrated insights and actionable recommendations can be delivered to senior leadership team to achieve business objectives
- Define and document key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of omnichannel marketing campaigns
- Build and enhance digital analytics dashboards/reports
- Analyze data and data requirements regarding reporting solutions, ensure data quality, and match back to core systems transaction results
- Monitor and report on omnichannel engagement metrics to assess campaign performance and customer interactions
- Identify and understand internal and external data sources required for Omnichannel and other commercial insight deliverables, working with other cross-functional teams to integrate the data to generate insights for the commercial team
- Maintain the Omnichannel/commercial reports/dashboard products and solutions, including resolving production issues and responding quickly to priority problems
- Provide ongoing business training to end users in reporting and find opportunities for self-service. Also, educate the business about the capabilities of self-service.
- Create opportunities for efficiencies in commercial reporting platforms through process improvements, vendor leverage, and data analysis, coordinating with the brand to implement solutions
- Perform intake review and assist in prioritization of reporting requests
- Analyze reporting service requests and define technical specifications for efficient development
- Work with offshore team members to develop the dashboard/reporting solutions and maintain reporting standards and protocols
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide ad-hoc reports as needed
- Create and maintain SOP documentation of reporting solutions, data mapping, data dictionary, and reporting standards
- Perform quality review of new and existing reporting solutions
- Coordinate end-user review and acceptance of the developed solutions
- Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills/Experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required for eliciting requirements as well as communicating findings to key business stakeholders. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
- Experience working with Digital Marketing Data (Email marketing, Google Analytics, Social media, Search engine etc.)
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics in a healthcare setting
- 3+ years working experience in data warehousing and modeling concepts and expertise in data analysis
- 5+ years of technical experience in database structures, query languages, structured programming languages, and the ability to query large datasets using ANSI SQL/HIVE SQL and working with relational databases
- 3+ years of strong hands-on experience with technical capabilities in visualization tools like QlikSense, PowerBI, or Tableau is required.
- Experience working with offshore development team
- Solid understanding of Promotional/Non-Promotional channel and data sources like email marketing, Google Analytics, Banner-Ad etc.
- Knowledge of SFMC, Veeva CRM data model in pharmaceutical settings, Patient Hub Data.
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. Desirable Skills/Experience

- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer or Information/Data Sciences, science, technology, engineering, mathematics) required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience working in the pharma or biotech sectors, preferably in a Commercial organization
- Experience with Data Management Platforms like Hive, Snowflake, and Spark for large-scale prospects data is a plus
