This is what you will do:
The BA Intern for Commercial IT is a Business Analyst working with Commercial business teams, Business Partners, and IT teams to determine business needs and define business requirement, as well as write user stories and acceptance critieria in order to develop technology solutions.
• The BA Intern for Commercial IT will engage with the BA and IT teams, and will collaborate with the team(s) on a pre-selected “signature” project that can be written up for a presentation. This project will be aimed at advancing Alexion Commercial capabilities from a technical perspective.
• The BA Intern for Commercial IT will collaborate with a senior BA on ongoing projects so they can experience projects and team interactions in multiple phases, for a well rounded experience. You will be responsible for: • Gathering requirements for technology projects and enhancements from Commercial stakeholders
• Facilitating the action of IT deliverables in accordance with Software Development Lifecycle, including testing, execution, and technical verification
• Partner with business leads and technology partners to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements into technical requirements.
• Walk through the updated process and complete technical testing prior to UAT • Document user manuals (system) to describe application usage by the Market Access or Patient Services user community and operating procedures
• Collaborate in organizing and leading meetings and workshops to ensure conversations with all the key business stakeholders involved and are aligned with overall strategy and approach, with a goal of seeking overall consensus and full and accurate representation of Business Stakeholders. You will need to have:
• Keen desire to understand more about Pharmaceutical processes and the life sciences industry
• Curious problem solver who enjoys learning new things, working with others, and continuously growing their interpersonal and technical skills

• Solid technical and analytical skills, along with sharp business acumen
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, along with a passion and aptitude for technology
• Ability to quickly adapt to new projects and work on a diverse team
• Effectively work in an extremely fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Must be enrolled in a undergrad or grad program
Education:
Major or minor in computer science, data sciences, mathematics, information systems/technology, computer engineering, or a related field

The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.
We would prefer for you to have:
• Familiarity with the Agile method of development
• Novice understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
• Novice understanding of one or more business areas including Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or Customer Service.
• Experience with Change Management
• High level of proficiency in MS office suite including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Visio, Miro or similar program for process flow diagramming
