In this role, you will report to the Area Operations Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: New England, MA region, supporting multiple customer locations in Cambridge and Waltham.

Shift: Mon – Fri, ~7:30 am – 4 pm

Wage: $25-27 per hour

Sign-on Bonus: $1000, pays out after 30 days

What we’re looking for:

• High School diploma or GED is required

• Microsoft Office Suite including proficiency in Excel required.

• Covid-19 vaccination required.

• Inventory management or laboratory experience required.

• 1+ Customer service exp required.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

• Strong communication both written and verbal required.

• Flexible and forward-thinking, motivated, and enthusiastic about work required.

• Able to prioritize tasks, problem solve, be flexible and proactive, and have the confidence to act independently to meet goals is required.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Conform to all company and customer requirements for background check, health and safety issues, and security clearances required.

• Able to perform the duties with the highest regard for safety and quality at all times required.

• Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA experience preferred, not required.

• Knowledge of scientific products and services desired but not required.

• Previous experience working in a GMP facility is a plus.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Work will be performed in lab environments.

• Facilitates orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment.

• Manages customer’s point of use or stockroom inventory.

• Document all change requests.

• Responsible for logistical activities such as shipping and receiving of materials through coordination with 3rd party couriers.

• Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, note and receive, or note and reject as needed.

• Responsible for properly preparing, packaging, and providing documentation with outgoing shipments (training others as needed).

• May handle and manage chemicals, including hazardous materials.

• Basic order entry and follow-up on existing backorders.

• Bio waste disposal and glassware washing.

• Work with site contacts to identify and make recommendations for operational improvements.

• Updating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Adhere to all EH&S safety procedures.

• Will require traveling between customer sites.

• Other duties as assigned.
