Avantor | NuSil Technologies is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Lead Technician for 2nd Shift. Working in partnership under close supervision, responsible for technical quality tasks, including inspecting and processing raw materials and reviewing products. Observe cGMP good documentation practices.

Under limited supervision, responsible for technical quality tasks, including inspecting and processing raw materials and reviewing finished products. Observe cGMP good documentation practices. Maintains work activities to meet operational requirements. Monitors staff performance in accordance to established standards. Mentor and train less-experienced peers and assist supervisors but does not formally supervise others.

  • This role will be a full-time position base out of Bakersfield, CA.
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00PM – 10:30pm

What we’re looking for:

  • Education: BA/BS in chemistry or science-related field preferred, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; a minimum of Two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality including cGMP and ISO standard.
    • Experience of cGMP and MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Chemistry laboratory related instrumentation and machinery such as (GC, GPC chromatography, FT-IR Spectroscopy and UV-VIS spectrophotometry).

Who you are:

  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance// Quality control in Fine Chemicals and silicone- chemistry and pharmaceutical company.
  • Familiar with lab equipment operation and set-up.
  • Experience working with chemicals and chemical reactions effective.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures.
  • Ability to successfully present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Great Teammate and good social skills

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Performs quality testing on incoming raw materials, intermediate and final product.
  • Sampling and analysis for RM/Intermediate/Finished Goods.
  • Responsible for timely analysis of under test samples giving timely results.
  • Responsible for a wide variety of skilled preparation and operation of analytical equipment.
  • Performs maintenance of various laboratory instruments.
  • Corrects routine and non-routine problems.
  • Adheres to strict safety regulations of company.
  • Collaborates with other departments.
  • Operates and trains on operation of test equipment.
  • Must be regular and punctual in attendance.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job description.
  • Knowledge of calibration, standard preparation, standardization, and relevant documentation.
  • Handling knowledge of GC, GPC, UV/VIS, FTIR, and wet analysis
  • Give timely reports to SAP.
  • Fill and update all documents.
  • Will be member of the Emergency response team and will guide & train other team members in case of Emergency.
  • Maintain ISO 9001/AS 9100, SAP, and other Quality system into department. Will maintain the analytical records / log sheets as per GMP & ISO guidelines

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$53,000.00 - $88,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
