VMI Demand Planner

The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Demand Planner (f/m/d) to manage the inventory planning for our stock-up customer segment. In this role, you will create flag reports and monitor metrics, perform general stock forecasting, and develop replenishment strategies.
This role will be a full-time role with both hybrid and remote options available (dependent on your current distance to our office). Working hours: Monday-Friday, regular business hours. Dependent on your location we would request you to come 2-3 days to the Dublin office but if you live too far away, fully remote is also available.
The team
You will be part of the Demand Planning team, currently consisting of six talented colleagues. We provide you with all necessary tools to perform your job well and support you with ongoing training and development opportunities.
What we’re looking for
Education: Completed Leaving Certificate, Higher Education or University Degree
Experience: Initial experience in supply chain, inventory management, procurement, demand planning or similar desired
Qualifications:
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of inventory planning processes
- Proficiency in Excel and SAP strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with both senior stakeholders and customers
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and project management skills
- Solid experience in shipping, inventory or purchasing environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle multiple, sometimes conflicting interests and enabling viable solutions
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Act as a main point of contact for managing our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Services for Ireland within the stock-up customers segment
- Develop tactical demand forecasts and replenishment plans and proactively adjust them to optimize investment in inventory
- Advise customers and manage expectations regarding our VMI Services
- Maintain and create customer reservation contracts
- Collaborate across various teams (Sales, Customer Service, Warehousing) to maximize inventory usage and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Review & coordinate VMI metric indicators with the relevant sites and present findings
- Determine optimal inventory position for customer stocking location
- Monitor customer usage data to facilitate increased stock movements
- Load reservation changes/deletions for SAP and the Flag Master planning tool
- Establish, maintain, report and analyse trends for KPIs for forecast accuracy, demand variability, inventory and back orders
