Avantor is on the lookout for a motivated Laboratory Logistics Assistant to join the team in Leiden. In this diverse position, you are responsible for multiple tasks such as maintaining lab equipment, receiving, and unpacking shipments, entering orders, scanning samples, and much more! You will work on a full-time basis at our customer site in Leiden in the Bioscience Park. You will receive a contract for 1 year, transferred into a permanent one after a positive evaluation. Next to an attractive salary, we offer multiple benefits such as a pension scheme, commuting allowance, 13th month and bonus plan.
Working hours: Monday - Friday, flexible start time between 07:00 - 8:30 and finish time between 15:30 – 17:00
The team
Together with your colleagues, coordinator and Supervisor, you look after the laboratory shipments, samples, support preventative maintenance planning and organize materials across two sites. This team belongs to our department Lab and Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we’re looking for
Education: MBO 3 or 4 lab studies or first lab experience
Experience: In a Lab is an asset, though not required, open for warehouse operatives
Preferred qualifications
- Strong English communication skills; Dutch is a plus
- Driving’s licences is a requirement
- Pro-active work approach, stress resistant, and flexible
- Good problem-solving skills, organized and customer oriented
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Maintain lab equipment by executing cleaning duties, emptying and disinfecting equipment such as freezers and incubators
- Place orders, prepare and label lab materials, such as biological media, buffers, and mobile phases
- Receive and register incoming good and check for quality
- Document, check samples, and distribute them to the accurate departments
- Maintain inventory levels, order lab materials and follow-up on the orders
- Resolve all issues with samples and escalate if issues cannot be resolved
- Handle Chemical and Biomedical waste
