The Opportunity:

Avantor is currently looking for a motivated Maintenance and EHS Specialist (f/m/d) to join our team in Stříbrná Skalice, Czech Republic.

In this role, you will be the main point of contact for maintenance and facility management (70% of tasks) as well the coordinator for local EHS activities (30% of tasks).

This role will be on a full-time, permanent basis with a hybrid working model (3 days on-site, 2 days from home). What we’re looking for

Education: Completed secondary education as a mechanic, electrician or facility manager

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in facility management, ideally from a production and/or warehouse site is a must
  • Basic understanding on electrical devices to detect faults
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Experience dealing with challenging situations
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn assigned programs
  • Intermediate English proficiency (speaking and writing)
  • Knowledge of EHS legislation and relevant EHS certification is an advantage
  • Previous experience with risk assessments is an advantage

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact concerning technical services and facilities maintenance.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance checks on all company devices and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot when necessary or engage external services.
  • Communicate and coordinate with third parties to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and track equipment performance.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by taking care of pest control measures.
  • Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies needed for maintenance activities.
  • Backup the IT Technician in case of printer issues and access set-up.
  • Serve as EHS point of contact for internal & external audits and inspections.
  • Manage EHS regulatory requirements, processes, and related documents.
  • Support and maintain the EHS system in compliance with ISO and corporate standards.
  • Support Operations with risk assessments; provide EHS relevant data for reports.
  • Report, investigate, and mitigate occupational accidents and near-misses with a third party.
  • Coordinate environmental reviews, emergency response programs, first-aid and evacuation.
  • Audit waste management activities and contractors to ensure compliance with local and corporate requirements.
