The Production Manager is responsible for leading a manufacturing team within a 24x7 operations group, using Lean manufacturing methods and his/her experience to meet established requirements for safety, quality and on-time delivery of our products. Efforts will support ongoing cost reduction, quality enhancement, capacity creation, new product introductions and/or product transfer initiatives. This leader is also responsible to establish and monitor the performance of production lines and personnel to drive continuous improvement of production metrics and operational excellence.

The leader will staff the team as needed as well as be responsible for training and developing the personnel to achieve organizational objectives. This leader must have the ability to influence, motivate, and direct others in a cross-functional team environment to ensure adherence to the established production and project plans, be able to perform independently and make timely decisions in response to issues that are part of the daily life in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This individual will partner with Danaher Business Systems Leaders to improve total productive manufacturing time and drive towards world class quality and utilization on all the manufacturing operations.

This position is part of the Manufacturing Operations group supporting a 24x7 in vitro diagnostic (IVD) manufacturing operation located in Lodi, CA. This position will be Night Shift supporting teams Wednesday-Friday, alternating every other Saturday. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build and lead a group of talented operations personnel including Supervisor, Leads and manufacturing associates. Provide leadership to manufacturing operations personnel and provide both technical and operational guidance in a high volume 24x7 complex manufacturing environment.
  • Work with cross functional groups in process, quality, and cost improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Logistics and Inventory Management personnel as well as Danaher Business Systems leader to improve quality, performance and productivity.
  • Closely monitor progress vs. plan, interface with and provide reports to senior management and provide updates regarding production and projects taking action, as required, to keep projects and production schedules on track.
  • Take ownership of troubleshooting and resolving operational issues including those of a cross-functional nature. Conceiving and proposing creative solutions to solve difficult capacity constraints.
  • Supporting the investigation and resolution of non-conformances and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions in a timely and detailed manner per applicable investigation procedures.
  • Practice 5S in the manufacturing areas and ensure that the production areas and associate equipment/tools are properly maintained as prescribed in SOPs and work instructions.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 9+ years of industry/manufacturing operations leadership experience
  • Demonstrated track-record of building and leading high performing teams
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Experience interacting with cross-functional teams in a global environment

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience from medical device regulations in US and CE markets
  • Experience from working in a global environment
  • Experience from working with PCR in a high-volume production environment

The salary range for this role is $106,400-146,200. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
