The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for maximizing the value and efficiency of the product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, a keen understanding of market trends, and the ability to contribute to product innovation while driving portfolio optimization. This role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive lifecycle management, support margin expansion opportunities for the full portfolio, and ensure successful product positioning,

This position is part of the Product Management organization, will report to the Senior Director of Product Management & Strategy, and will be located either remote or at our Torrance, CA facility.

What We’ll Get You Doing:

  • Conduct ongoing portfolio review meetings with senior leaders to establish a prioritized portfolio
  • Develop and implement comprehensive product line lifecycle strategies across all consumables product lines partnering closely with Product Management and leveraging the product roadmap
  • Develop new processes for portfolio management by benchmarking related internal and external companies with similar portfolios
  • Direct their team to deliver operational business planning for the management of the mature life-cycle products (5+ years) in the Portfolio, and ensure these activities are aligned with marketing plans and activities to deliver revenue expectations
  • Support margin and longer-term financial targets partnering with Strategic Pricing to develop harmonized global list pricing, and Operations to support cost savings and margin expansion activities
  • Work with Strategic Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Product Management to monitor and analyze global customer needs, market insight and competitor trends, using these as inputs to drive successful development and delivery of a differentiated, market leading Portfolio strategy

The Essential Requirements of the Role Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years’ experience or MBA/Master’s degree with 5+ years’ experience or Doctorate infield with 2+ years’
  • 4+ years working product or marketing knowledge of practical HPLC workflows in liquid chromatographic instrumentation like HPLC-UV, UHPLC-UV, and LC/MS or other chromatography and sample preparation techniques
  • Experience supporting a large science/technology portfolio of project and operational investments with multiple business stakeholders
  • Previous leadership experience in product management, market development, technical customer management, or product development is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with an ability to present materials to management to drive decision making
  • Exhibits critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail
  • Travel potentially up to 30%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Prior experience in Product Management or Marketing in a liquid chromatography consumables organization
  • Hands on laboratory experience using liquid chromatography or sample preparation consumables products.

The salary range for this role is $106,000 - $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
