The Senior Director of Operations leads our Minneapolis and St. Paul manufacturing sites. Minneapolis, our corporate headquarters site and our future Reagents Focused Factory, manufactures and ships recombinant proteins, GMP proteins, antibodies, ELISA kits, Luminex assays, cell culture media, and hematology controls. St. Paul, our state-of-the-art GMP manufacturing facility, produces GMP proteins. Together, Minneapolis and St. Paul supply customers to support their academic research, bio-pharma drug discovery, quality control, and more.

The role reports to the VP of Operations & Supply Chain and has a dotted line (as a matrix partner) to 3 Divisions. The role includes a growth component as Minneapolis & St. Paul currently have high growth products, they are expected to become enterprise focused factories, and Minneapolis serves as our corporate headquarters.

The ideal candidate is strategic, can identify the critical few, has a bias to action, and has a history of consistently achieving strong quantifiable results. He/she is regarded as a team player, is called selfless, is straightforward/non-political, and consistently develops/mentors the team. The ideal candidate excels in developing an engaged culture and a highly capable team. Operationally, the ideal candidate will leverage his/her prior experience in leading complex & technical manufacturing across multiple product lines and will leverage his/her strength in structured problem solving to identify and execute effectively on the critical few.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build/develop an exceptional team

  • Lead within our EPIC framework (empowerment/passion/innovation/collaboration); demonstrate deep respect for people through your work
  • Consistently meet existing core KPI’s (safety/quality/delivery/cost)
  • Develop and execute a strategy to scale our existing product lines in a cost-effective manner
  • Create and execute a vision for a reagents focused factory; manage incoming product line transfers (as applicable)
  • Simultaneously drive stretch improvement in some areas, with incremental in others
  • Ensure that team and infrastructure are always both ahead of growth, and within budget
  • Communicate & collaborate effectively with your team, peers, the businesses you work for, and senior leadership
  • Lead with facts / data
  • Execute with a sense of urgency, delivering results
