POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages and organizes the IT Infrastructure team for the enterprise. Provides technical leadership, trouble shooting, procedural support and solutions to enterprise systems that are specific to operations and revenue generating business units. Ensures that project deadlines and deliverables are met and is responsible for the data analysis, change impact modeling and management of information as related to the performance of projects, programs, and portfolio. Manages projects and provides the best and most cost-effective solutions that meet corporate goals and objectives. Design new information technology solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Reports directly to the Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations. Acts independently or under the most general direction. Acts as a high-level resource providing guidance on information projects, keeping in mind business needs, capacity and limitations of hardware and software, operational standards and other relevant factors to assure effectiveness of the business solutions. Responsible for the team’s quick solutions to issues that impact revenue, regulatory compliance and operations. Position helps reduces revenue loss by coordinating and managing the quickest and most feasible solutions. Facilitates vendor engagements in order to reduce cost or loss of revenue while maintaining TissueTech’s policies, procedures, and security. Position supports other business units in managing new and existing business area issues, improvements, concerns, projects, and requests.
Incumbent will own Client (End User) operations as well as Server, Network, and SAN/NAS operations. Provides technical leadership and time/resource estimates for assigned projects. Incumbent troubleshoots common server issues, assists other groups in troubleshooting interface issues, and provides data logs and analysis for other teams or vendors. Maintains server equipment, performs upgrades and travels to support the remote offices. Works to provide enhancements to existing systems and propose new ones. This position also implements end-user or enterprise infrastructure or services of complex nature. Independently reviews and verifies highly complex changes and develops solutions as a designated subject matter expert. The position may have enterprise privileges that provide control access to all servers in the enterprise. Performs changes and upgrades to critical infrastructure in a safe and controlled manner. Exercises independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Applies deep broad knowledge of technology and industry trends to operate and administer high risk critical infrastructure or software platforms of high complexity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the IT Infrastructure teams for the Enterprise.
- Participates in the research, planning and implementation of technical solutions that will meet present and future systems needs of related business units within the context of corporate needs and goals. Manages special projects from design to implementation assisting in integration of technologies and tracking of deliverables. Works directly with other departments to gather business requirements.
- Coordinates with multiple vendors and business units in order to fix issues with existing systems or to establish new systems or deliverables.
- Ensures that all activities under the control of this position are consistent with corporate and departmental goals and objectives, and that all resources are utilized in the most effective manner to accomplish tasks within established time schedules, service levels and budgets.
- Manages the continuing review of present systems in order to determine level of effectiveness, required modifications and/or replacement in light of corporate needs and requirements.
- Implements enterprise solutions and associated hardware for new office locations.
- Remains abreast of industry trends and technological changes to enhance business performance, improve productivity and quality.
- Systematically tracks issues and risks inherent to the project. Makes sure mitigation strategies are in place. Reports progress of issue and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensures that project plans and related activities support key organizational business objectives and major deliverables for assigned projects. Oversees the implementation of the new system; develops project plans, prepares and conducts weekly status meetings as well as the allocation of the resources and the establishment of the timeline(s) commitments and the adherence that the timeline is met, in conjunction with the IT Ship System Project Manager.
- Perform other job related functions as assigned.
- Monitors and maintains the integrity of established TissueTech Information Technology security policies, practices, and procedures. Develops and documents standardized user (internal customer) processes and procedures and "how to" documentation. Develops and supports standards for use of network services including Active Directory group policies. Recommends policies for desktop hardware and software and writes detailed scopes of work for purchases.
- Provides technical support and supervision to members of the Service Desk support group. Responsible for assigning and prioritizing work and performance management.
- Plans, implements, and supports workstation, printer hardware, and software. Performs desktop system maintenance/upgrades including all desktop OS patches and, creates and maintains user accounts, manages user groups, and network permissions. Manages and administers all printers, copiers, and print servers.
- Responsible for all desktop software and hardware inventory, compliance and audits including printers, copiers, smart devices/iPad and scanners. Provides key performance indicator metrics reports for all IT service requests.
- Supports critical systems after hours, nights and weekends as needed. Responds to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
- Maintain server infrastructure including: Networking, Enterprise Storage (SAN), Virtual Infrastructure, Active Directory, and MS Exchange.
- Any other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education, skills; or Minimum 7 years experience in technical infrastructure.
- SAN/NAS experience, minimum three years experience. Active Directory experience as a Domain Admin, minimum 3 years. MS Exchange Administrator, minimum three years experience. VMware Administrator, minimum three years experience. Successful administration and deployment of virtual infrastructure, VMware. Project Manager experience of complex infrastructure deployments, minimum three years experience. Network Administrator, minimum 3 years. Minimum 3 years operating under an ITL framework.
- Ability to work in a real time environment with excellent troubleshooting skills. Sound decision making skills with ability to effectively lead, motivate, coach and influence team members in a demanding environment.Ability to manage budget effectively. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to work with internal business owners, team resources, management, and vendors on system specifications, requirements and recommendations.
- Strong commitment to service excellence required. Strong initiative, priority setting and collaboration skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments under pressure while maintaining professional composure. Solid applied knowledge of SAN and Server technologies. Basic knowledge of integration with third party systems including, ERP systems, phone PBX, CRM solutions. Basic Knowledge of Data Warehouse replication methodologies. Knowledge of or ability to learn business operations such as Operations, Revenue Management and Accounting functions. Strong data analysis skills. Ability to independently handle project management, operations and applications design, network design, implementation and support, monitoring applications, documentation and production support.
- Effective in negotiations, interpersonal and partnering skills. Ability to select the right resources needed to effectively perform the project tasks. Planning skills to evaluate negotiate and prioritize work for these resources effectively so they are managed accordingly to the organizational priority. Conceptualize logical and innovative solutions to solve complex business problems. Ability to be on call via email, phone and urgent travel needs, when deemed necessary by management, to support enterprise system issues. Team oriented for collaboration across multiple IT areas, and business areas. Ability to travel up to 10% of overall time to domestic and international locations.
