About This Role:
As the Senior Analyst for EU VAT & Accounting, you will be an integral part of the VAT Center of Excellence team, playing a critical role in ensuring VAT compliance across various European countries. In this position, you will be tasked with the accurate preparation and collection of information from system-generated reports. Your work will directly contribute to the accurate and timely filing of VAT returns, EC Listings, Intrastat reporting, and VAT reconciliations at month-end. You will be responsible for maintaining well-organized VAT folders, ensuring documentation is properly stored and authenticated. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Director, your analytical skills and attention to detail will bring significant value to our financial operations, while your ability to manage efficiently our VAT compliance processes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Compile and submit EC Listings.
  • Manage the preparation process for Intrastat reporting.
  • Conduct VAT reconciliations at month-end, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Organize and maintain VAT folders, making sure all necessary documents are saved and appropriately signed.
  • Assist with various VAT compliance tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Record To Report and P2P teams, on VAT-related matters.
  • Engage with local finance teams to communicate relevant VAT information.
  • Prioritize and manage workflow effectively, adhering to tax reporting deadlines.
  • Take initiative in creating and actioning items during VAT reconciliation processes.
  • Make decisions regarding the preparation of journal entries and other corrections independently.

Qualifications

Who You Are:
You are a detail-oriented individual with a solid background in accounting and a deep understanding of VAT compliance. You thrive in environments that require precision and are capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Your ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and your proficiency in English, with German as a valuable asset, make you a strong team player. You are self-motivated, able to work independently, and take accountability for your work. You excel at seeing the big picture in complex workflows and know how to prioritize effectively to meet critical deadlines.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in VAT advisory or VAT compliance.
  • General knowledge of VAT and experience with Oracle or similar financial systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Strong initiative and the capacity to work independently and with responsibility.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • A keen sense of accountability and competence in managing complex workflows.
  • Excellent prioritization skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Additional language skills in other European languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive process improvements.

Additional Information

This role is eligible to off campus work model (3 days in a quarter in Warsaw office). We offer 18-months contract of employment.

Please note that this role requires a candidate to be a holder of work permit & residency in Poland.
