The Position

Most of strategic decisions require a sales forecast. Global Forecasters are at the crossroad of Asset teams, Regions, local affiliates, Senior Management and Supply, helping the organization shape the future of Boehringer, healthcare and patients. Reliable, ambitious, business decision enablers.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • This position of (Senior) International Forecast Manager will focus on both strategic forecasting and global operational/demand forecasting. You will be responsible for providing insights to shape strategy with internal stakeholders and translating strategy into sales forecasts. You will act as a leader of the ambition working with global and local stakeholders. In addition, this role will require strong experience of demand forecasting process to provide guidance and training to local demand forecasters and manage consolidation and tracking of global demand plans in collaboration with our supply division
  • Key activities of your new role as (Senior) International Forecast Manager include:
  • Within a certain Therapeutic Area:
  • Leading the forecast creation, updates and coordination for pipeline, pre-launch and launch assets, as well as assessment of investment opportunities
  • Responsibility for all forecast related communications with internal stakeholders (mainly asset teams, regions office, local affiliates, and senior management)
  • Providing forecasting guidance to affiliates, and review affiliates forecasts to foster insightful discussions between global and local stakeholders while ensuring substantiation, ambition and actionability of the forecasts
  • Standardization, consolidation, and documentation of forecasting assumptions
  • Ensuring that the forecast process is aligned within and across the product portfolio
  • Demand forecasting own the global demand forecasting process and governance across the entire human pharma portfolio


As Senior International Forecast Manager you additionally have the following responsibilities:

  • Participating in the development of appropriate forecasting tools/approaches to answer key business questions throughout the product lifecycle, including leading tool development projects
  • Supporting the Team Leader through proactive contribution to the development of the Junior International Forecast Managers and International Forecast Managers through the dissemination of best practices


Requirements

  • Master´s degree in Business Administration/Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative focused area, MBA preferred
  • Few years professional experience in pharmaceuticals industry in function closely related forecasting (consulting, marketing, customer insights, market access/pricing, HEOR, finance)
  • Few years of previous experience in forecasting in pharma or health care industry
  • Pharma consulting and/or Brand marketing experience regarded as a serious plus
  • International experience or affiliate experience advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to drive and influence business decision – Leadership without authority
  • Ability to translate strategy into numbers
  • Ability to engage with senior managers and committees
  • Basic knowledge of primary and secondary data as source of forecasting assumptions
  • Being a team player, while determining own priorities with sense of urgency and delivering independently
  • Solution orientation and ability to solve complex problems
  • Command of the English language is required (written and spoken)


Further requirements for the Senior International Forecast Manager:

  • Several years professional experience in pharmaceuticals industry in function closely related forecasting (consulting, marketing, customer insights, market access/pricing, HEOR, finance)
  • Several years forecasting experience in pharma or health care industry required
  • Ability to become primary contact person with certain senior managers and committees
  • Record of leadership without authority i.e. excellent communication skills and ability to drive and influence business decisions without direct line management
  • Good knowledge of primary and secondary data as source of forecasting assumptions
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (including overnight travel)
