THE OPPORTUNITY
As the
Head of Therapeutic Area (TA), you will be accountable for cross-functionally driving execution in the
Cardiovascular Renal Metabolic (CRM) TAwithin our Dutch operating unit ( Integrated Customer Planning/Long Term Forecasting, etc.).
In this role, you will ensure
excellence in execution by setting ambitious targets and fostering overarching integrated cross-functional initiatives. Furthermore, you will ensure overall
launch preparation for new assets, building on solid customer and patient insights and leading the organization to excellent launches of the assigned assets.
Additionally, you will be responsible for a cross-functional team of senior leaders, will lead and coach the TA Asset Leads and the Marketing and sales organization within the TA, ensuring effective performance and talent management.

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the General Manager/ Head of Human Pharma (Netherlands).
Responsibilities
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build long-term plans for the TA to maximize opportunities and synergies for the current and future portfolio over life cycle.
- Manage relationships with key customers and external stakeholders in the OPU.
- Lead asset teams to implement global IAPs (Integrated Asset Plans) into OPU context ensuring synergies across Assets in the TA.
- Collaborate with HP leadership and actively engage with HP leadership to ensure alignment of all functions with the TA/asset priorities (Corporate Affairs, RWE, Market Access/Healthcare Affairs, Business Excellence).
- Lead Asset Leads in the OPU and work together with Head of TA in the ROPU to ensure successful ICP execution, KPI achievement and adjust plans if needed.
- Lead the defined HP TA in line with the corporate and regional objectives ensuring achievement of targets and excellence in execution.
- Responsible for budget planning and resource allocation for the OPU ( e.g. resource mix, product focus).
- Own Financial figures (DOTs and NS) and work closely with Market Access Manager and aligns with the Head of Market Access for pricing/reimbursement topics.
- Ensure overall launch preparation for assigned assets.
- Directly manage the Marketing and Sales organization and provide feedback on performance and development needs of the cross functional team members .
What You Should Bring To The Team
- Advanced degree in Medical or Life Science, MD, PhD, MBA or equivalent experience.
- Experience across several functions (marketing, market access/HCA, medicine, sales, etc.).
- Leadership experience (direct reports) and leading in a matrix environment is highly preferred .
- International experience is a plus.
- Experience in developing multi-stakeholder strategy, integrated customer plans, new product planning and launch.
- Strategic understanding and experience in identifying and building foundational insights, patient journey, new patient and customer engagement initiatives for improved patient care.
- Strong cross-functional business acumen .
- High ability to integrate the different perspectives and resolve conflicts amongst cross-functional team members (emotional intelligence) .
- Create an environment to challenge & support the team, fostering a learning culture .
- Ability to innovate and experiment together with the team and external stakeholders .
- Customer Facing Experience & Executional Excellences .
- Ability to drive system change – track record of entrepreneurial mindset .
