The Position

You will steer and manage as virtual production site manager a portfolio of external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) for Animal Health to ensure successful industrialization/launch, supply robustness and cost management for assigned product portfolio.

In addition, you will lead the AH External Manufacturing Strategy implementation program with several high priority and critical sub-projects.

This position is located in Ingelheim; however, the program covers CMOs globally (EU, Americas and Asia).

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • As a CMO Manager, you will spearhead a cross-functional matrix team, manage diverse and conflicting interests within a complex environment and liaise with Business Partners to translate business requirements into an optimal supply strategy.
  • You will leverage your hands-on experience with CMO operations to ensure a robust supply of marketed products and ensure the flawless launch of newly developed, innovative products in collaboration with R&D
  • Furthermore, you will assess and enhance external partnerships through performance metrics and feedback, promoting a culture of ongoing process improvement
  • Leading the External Manufacturing Strategy program, you will unite diverse teams across Animal Health Global Supply, Sourcing, Finance, and Legal to achieve program and project objectives efficiently (time, scope, quality and cost)
  • In addition, you will outline strategic project goals, plans and milestones, ensuring alignment with the overarching program management framework
  • You will report regularly on the progress and status of the program and its subprojects to decision-making bodies and prepare decisions


Requirements

  • Master's Degree (MSc)/State examination in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, engineering / comparable scientific program or Business Administration
  • Several years of operational experience in third party management, including hands-on experience in conducting negotiations with CMOs
  • Several years of experience in managing leaders and/or managing large and complex transformation projects in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Very good understanding of the economic relationships around product costs (CoGs, TMC, IPC)
  • In-depth knowledge of project and program management (multi-project management), incl. methods and tools
  • Excellent skills for structured work and effective time management
  • Excellent communication and conflict management skills and fluency in English, German language skills beneficial
