The Position

As Post Doc in our innovative research team, you will bring your strong expertise in the field of cardiovascular biology.

In your role, you will establish and utilize state of the art in vivo methods to investigate cardiovascular disease pathology according to highest ethical standards and the 3R principles.

This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will perform preclinical in vivo studies independently and according to highest ethical standards and the 3R principles
  • Furthermore, you will analyze scientific data and drive underlying projects based on respective conclusions, including presentation to decision bodies
  • Moreover, you will work in a multidisciplinary team with members from various scientific backgrounds
  • With your scientific expertise, you will establish known cardiovascular disease models and utilize state of the art in vivo methods like echocardiography and telemetry
  • You will closely interact with experts in the field of histopathology, genomics and computational biology
  • In addition, you will publish scientific results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present data at international conferences


Requirements

  • PhD with strong background in cardiovascular biology
  • Hands-on in vivo experience in the field of cardiovascular disease research such as echocardiography, telemetry, pressure-volume loops
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular disease pathomechanisms e.g. inflammation, fibrosis and preclinical models
  • Experience in performing surgeries for acute myocardial infarction is a plus
  • Very good oral communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment
  • Fluent language skills in English are mandatory, German language skills are a plus
