Job Description

As a Senior Postdoctoral Recruiter at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, you will work in close collaboration with Principal Investigators, Operations leaders and/or hiring managers as well as our Office of Academic Affairs to attract and recruit a diverse pool of talent for our Postdoctoral communities at the Broad. You will be a thought leader in the recruiting space, a trusted advisor to leaders in the organization, and a skilled storyteller sharing the value proposition of joining a mission driven organization dedicated to making great strides in Research.

What you should know…

  • This position is a 100% remote position, but you must live a commutable distance to Cambridge, MA for occasional on-site meetings (within 75 miles)

  • Seeking a Senior Recruiter with experience specific to scientific recruiting and postdoc roles

  • A strong scientific acumen demonstrated through advanced education and/or bench experience

  • We are not a “post and pray” recruiting shop….you must be able to creatively source passive candidates for your open roles!

As a Senior Postdoctoral Recruiter on this Talent Acquisition team, you will be responsible for partnering with team members and will be an integral part of the full life cycle of recruitment. Other collaboration opportunities will be with hiring managers, as well as other stakeholders across the organization. Your responsibilities will include sourcing, screening, competency based interviewing, evaluation and selection. A key component of this position is the proactive development of candidate pools/pipelines to deliver a diverse top-quality talent pool. You will have impact on the overall organization through the below responsibilities:

  • Provide value added recruiting services by utilizing a variety of recruiting resources and leveraging networks to identify top talent

  • Act as a consultant to hiring managers to develop and implement robust recruiting and sourcing strategies

  • Perform and manage full life cycle recruiting efforts with a strong focus on diversity and candidate care including job description/posting oversight, sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluating and closing top talent.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on diversity recruitment initiatives

  • Proactively leverage social media channels & professional networking vehicles for robust sourcing results

  • Meet all defined service level agreements with regards to timelines, recruiting metrics and compliance guidelines

  • Proactively gain market insights to utilize/leverage with sourcing, attracting and hiring top talent as well as providing competitive information to leadership

  • Provide data analytics related to hiring, diversity and candidate funnels

Minimum qualifications

  • Graduate Degree in a scientific area, preferably life sciences related

  • At least 5 years of full life cycle recruiting experience, which includes passively sourcing talent

  • Ability to work independently and comfort dealing with shifting priorities

  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on efficiency

  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner

  • Exceptional organizational skills with a great attention to detail

  • Ability to responsibly and efficiently self manage in a remote work environment


Preferred qualifications

  • Some research experience through either wet lab or computational duties

  • Lead with authenticity and know-how to “speak the language” to your hiring leaders and candidates

  • Proven track record of developing advanced sourcing strategies, and launching creative campaigns to nurture a deep network of passive talent.
