Scientific Services (Delivery)
- Lead (direct and indirect reports) a global delivery team of Principal Scientific Writers and Senior Medical Writers to produce high quality scientific deliverables while ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and efficiency objectives
- Establish and maintain efficient working relations with all internal and external key stakeholders
- Identify and drive key critical strategic project priorities, including pilot project types
- Work closely with and as part of larger, cross-functional project teams
- Provide operational expertise on defined projects, including process improvements and day-to-day support
- Ensure visibility on project progress, forecasting, and operations in collaboration with PM and client servicing teams
- Align global teams, share best practices, and ensure appropriate resource allocation to projects
- Lead project prioritization, workload distribution, and resource planning for optimal capacity utilization and quality
- Manage team performance, set direction, and drive goal achievement
- Collaborate with quality/training teams to support functional and scientific excellence
- Identify risks and lead cross-functional mitigation strategies to ensure smooth operations
- Address client concerns, lead issue resolution, and ensure SOP/process compliance
- Track and report on business metrics/KPIs; prepare weekly/monthly reports as needed
- Understand client expectations at both macro and micro levels and communicate them to the team
- Build strong, influential relationships with key client stakeholders
- Participate in governance meetings and support new business development efforts
- Manage client expectations on scope and timelines, ensuring agile workflows that adapt to evolving needs
- Work with senior leaders at Cactus Life Sciences to execute:
- Medical Affairs vision for the next 3 years
- Organic growth planning, including but not limited to business metrics, revenue targets, and strategic investments in resources
- Manage levers that impact key business drivers such as recruitment, training and business account planning
- 10 + years of core scientific writing experience in an operations role preferably within the medical communications industry or in an agency setting
- 5+ years of prior experience in leading and managing a global, diverse, talented and high value team
- An understanding of science that will enable the execution of operations
- Passion and desire to create a work environment where highly skilled people can deliver to their best
- Track record of driving execution in a growing environment
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent decision-making and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders both internal and external
- Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
