What Security contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Security is responsible for providing measures to safeguard Cardinal Health's assets from circumstances and threats that would cause loss or harm. Our vision is to function in tandem with the company’s business needs and to proactively and innovatively prevent or mitigate risk while protecting significant company assets and being prepared to respond in an appropriate and professional manner when required.

The Security Operations and Intelligence Center (SOIC) is the centralized hub into which critical issues flow. These issues come from around the world, and from various Cardinal Health locations. The information is then compiled, analyzed, and distributed so that the affected business segments, employees, and customers are better prepared to respond to and recover from any crisis.

Responsibilities

Emergency Response (55%)

  • Conduct global threat intelligence gathering and analysis of threats

  • Assess domestic and global risk

  • Identify, initiate, and coordinate appropriate response and notification to senior management and crisis management teams

  • Provide emergency support globally

  • Keeps accurate log of events and incidents

Monitor Safety and Security Systems for Dublin Operations (15%)

  • Monitor cameras via video system

  • Monitor Access Control and Intrusion Detection system

  • Monitor Fire System

  • Monitor HVAC System

Special Projects (15%)

  • Leads special projects for the Global Security Team

  • Provide support on investigations for the Global Security Team

  • Develops, writes and updates SOIC procedures

  • Executes operational excellence projects for the SOIC

Security Technology Support (10%)

  • Program data into the security systems

  • Train Cardinal Health employees on basic system functions within the security systems

  • Troubleshoots security system software issues

Training (5%)

  • Assists in the onboarding, development, and training of new SOIC Analysts

  • Designs table top scenarios for SOIC Analyst training

Work Hours: TBD; must be willing to work 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift and/or weekends

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in related field (Security, IT, program management, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of security systems, devices, and building automation systems in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of security concepts, policies and procedures
  • Possesses advanced knowledge and experience in MS Office and SharePoint
  • Ability to apply knowledge and experiences to a rapidly-changing environment
  • Dedicated to the principal of Ethical behavior

  • Recognizes and anticipates security incidents and issues and escalates or responds appropriately

  • Identifies physical risk and assists with risk mitigation

  • Conducts site security audits and investigations

  • Applies industry, government, and company specific security standards to solve problems and provide guidance

  • Completes and reviews reports

  • Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks

  • Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity

  • Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve

  • Applies judgment within defined parameters

  • Receives general guidance; may receive more detailed instruction on new projects

  • Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy

Anticipated salary range: $56,200 - $80,400
