What IT Infrastructure & System Administration contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
IT Infrastructure & System Administration develops, implements and governs standard IT policies and procedures and oversees the enterprise infrastructure. This job family assesses system health, manages system resources, and provides operational support for the organization's databases. IT Infrastructure & System Administration also manages the organization's server and storage environments and operations, including selecting and managing virtual and physical vendors.
ServiceNow Data (CMDB & APM Administrator/Developer Role: Pivotal role in overseeing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and APM processes within the ServiceNow platform. This position is integral to the Application Development & Maintenance team, with a primary focus on operational tasks alongside data integrity and system enhancements. Operational responsibilities encompass the day-to-day management and optimization of CMDB and APM operations to ensure seamless functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operational Effectiveness: Responsible for completing ServiceNow Data Incidents, Defects, and Tasks according to established SLA’s. Perform daily health checks on CMDD data including monitoring jobs, data loads and mid servers. Resolve errors by implementing permeant corrective actions.
- Integration and Development: Develop and integrate ServiceNow with external systems to enrich CMDB data, utilizing REST, SOAP APIs, and other web services. Focus on automating data import, de-customizations, and synchronization processes to ensure up-to-date information.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement enhancements to improve data quality & process efficiency. Support build projects when required.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience with at least 2 years hands on experience in CMDB and Application portfolio management
- BA, BS, or equivalent experience in related field.
- Working experience of ServiceNow CMDB and APM, data modeling, and ITSM processes, Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Understanding of service graph connectors, various data sources, Network, Servers, Data Bases, Application portfolio management, Technology Portfolio management, EA workspaces and Information Portfolio
- Working experience with scripting and automation in ServiceNow (JavaScript, Unix shell scripting, Windows scripting, PowerShell, Perl, Python).
- Working experience with web technologies and APIs (REST, SOAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate actionable insights from data.
- Certifications/Trainings preferred:
- ServiceNow Fundamentals
- ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Fundamentals
- ITILv4 Foundations
