What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience, preferred
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred

- Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks
- Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution
- Refers to policies and past practices for guidance
- Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments
- Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems
- Research and resolve all reported inbound item exceptions(ASN issues, documentation, dating issues)
- Resolve all issues involving incorrect LPN information from the NLC(National Logistics Center)
- Reconcile blank Q DSCSA issues
- Contact vendors to resolve OS&D issues
- Communicate NLC related OS&D
- Provide proof of destruction to vendors
- Collaborate with finance regarding vendor receipt requests
- Return concealed damaged product to vendors
- Collaborate with compliance regarding controlled substance receiving exceptions
- Resolve all put away exceptions (in inventory, not put away, PP lock)

- Time management/Prioritization skills
- Strong system knowledge/technical aptitude/navigation between systems, good system judgement (WMS, SAP, MS office)
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
- Process disciplined
- Basic mathematics and unit of measure understanding
- Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to create simple and convenient communication channel to Operations and external vendors (closed loop)
- Recognize, report and document system anomalies (including IT tickets)
