IT Asset Management Business Analyst - Hybrid

Position Summary
As an IT Asset Management (ITAM) Business Analyst you will play a crucial role within the organization by managing and optimizing the use of IT assets. The AMBA role is a position within the Operations team bridging the technical and operational aspects of our asset management system(s) and how the data in managed and reported, ensuring adherence to audit requirements, and enhancing overall efficiencies. This role involves working closely with various teams such as IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, IT Security, IT Application Development, Finance, Procurement and Compliance teams to streamline processes, reduce redundancies, and implement best practices that enhance both compliance and productivity. These practices include but not limited to tasks such as purchase acquisitions, secure disposal, inventory management, maintenance and support tracking, and continuous improvement of policies and procedures. The primary goal of this role is to ensure all organizational IT assets are utilized and managed efficiently and align with the overall business strategy.
Job Responsibilities
Asset Lifecycle Management
Acquisition: Collaborate with procurement and IT departments to ensure that the acquisition of new assets aligns with the organization’s needs and budget.
Deployment: Oversee the deployment of IT assets, ensuring that they are configured and installed correctly as well as assisting with asset provisioning.
Maintenance: collaborate with technical teams to ensure maintenance schedules of assets are maintained to prolong their lifespan and maintain performance. Continuously review and track the asset refresh program adjusting where applicable to meet changes in business requirements.
Disposal: Manage the decommissioning and disposition of assets in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
Data Management and Reporting
Data Collection: Gather accurate and up-to-date information on all IT assets, including their status, location, and configuration.
Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports on asset utilization, performance metrics, and financial data to enable data driven decision-making processes.
Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings or performance improvements.
Compliance and Risk Management
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the management of assets align with compliance, physical and data security regulated policies and standards.
Risk Assessment: collaborate with technical teams to identity and develop strategies to mitigate and reduce risks associated with IT assets.
Audit Preparation: Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to IT asset management.
Strategic Alignment and Planning
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including IT, Information Security, Compliance, Finance, Procurement, and Legal to ensure cohesive asset management practices.
Vendor Management: work closely with Procurement to co-manage relationships with vendors and service providers to optimize contract negotiations, service level agreements, and asset acquisition.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, seek feedback, and align asset management practices with business goals.
Process Improvement and Innovation
Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement within the IT asset management processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Innovation: Stay in tune with emerging technologies, strategies and trends in IT asset management and recommend innovative solutions to improve asset management practices and end user satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or combination of 7-10 years of equivalent experience or certifications in IT, enterprise asset management, information management, business analysis, or other IT related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT asset management, business analysis, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform and modules, specifically CMDB, HAM, and SAM.
Proven experience in managing IT asset lifecycles, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
Proficiency in IT asset management software and tools.
Excellent analytical skills and experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IT asset management.
Experienced in ITIL methodology
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Must demonstrate the ability to proactively communicate technical topics and business processes in a clear, succinct, and relevant way.
Strong aptitude and drive for continual process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
CAMP, CSAM, CHAMP or CITAD certification.
Experience with configuration platforms.
ITIL Certification
Experience with Tableau, Power BI or other BI tools.
Physical Demands
The ITAM Business Analyst typically works in an office environment but may also be required to visit different sites to manage and audit IT assets. The role may involve working extended hours to meet deadlines or address urgent asset management issues.

Job may require after-hours response to emergency issues.
May require after-hours response for technical emergencies not explicitly related to assigned job responsibilities.
