The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).
The role
We are looking for a research trainee to join the Cell Fate Decoding and Engineering lab. The successful candidate will help set up and maintain the wet lab, as well as design and execute experiment with a focus on molecular biology and stem cell culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cloning design and execution
- Lentivirus production and transduction
- Culture of stem cell-derived neural models
- Genetic manipulation of cells via overexpression and knockout strategies
- Phenotypic analysis of genetic perturbations using qPCR, Western blotting, immunostaining, and (single-cell) genomics
About the lab
The Lin lab uses stem cell models, single-cell technologies, and perturbation screenings to uncover the regulatory logic that governs cell fate decisions and leverage this knowledge to engineer human cells.

Professional experience
Must Have

You hold a master’s degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedicine, or related fields

You have experience in molecular biology, lentiviruses, and stem cell culture

You are fluent in English and communicate well
Desirable but not required/ Nice to have

Experience with reprogramming and perturbation screening approaches, such as transcription factor overexpression or CRISPR-based methods, will be considered positively
Competences

Strong organizational and time management skills

Effective both independently and in collaborative team settings

Confident in establishing and optimizing new experimental systems
