Job Summary

We are seeking Technician II for our Bioassay Department located in Ballina, Co. Mayo

Reporting to the Bioassay Supervisor this role shall be responsible for the following:


  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other members of the team
  • Accuracy with Numbers
  • Ability to fill in forms accurately
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Adopt a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work under strict hygiene conditions
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • BSc. in relevant science discipline preferable but not essential. (Employees currently without the necessary qualification must be willing to undertake and successfully complete a degree course in a relevant science discipline as required).
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent IT skills.

Profile and Requirements


  • Carry out routine husbandry and housekeeping following strict hygiene procedures.
  • Record required data as per procedures.
  • Complete forms, cage cards and other paperwork accurately.
  • Provide cover for other members of the team as and when necessary.
  • Use of laboratory equipment.
