At Complete Genomics, we are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to lead and manage external collaborations in the genomics industry. In this role, you will identify and develop strategic partnerships, assess business opportunities, and work cross-functionally to drive market adoption of our advanced sequencing and omics technologies.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic collaborations in NGS, genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, proteomics, single-cell, and spatial biology.
- Assess scientific and commercial fit for potential partnerships and structure business agreements to maximize value.
- Expand and manage an ecosystem of upstream and downstream partners around Complete Genomics' core technologies.
- Lead joint evaluation studies to enhance market access and promote integrated product solutions.
- Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), industry executives, and commercial partners.
- Lead KOL collaboration projects and coordinate with marketing to execute voice-of-customer (VoC) initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, product management, and commercial teams to align business development strategies with corporate goals.
- Oversee business alliances, track project progress, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive strategic initiatives.
- Represent Complete Genomics at conferences and industry events to enhance brand visibility and establish thought leadership.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK
- Remote (U.S.) – Open to candidates across the United States.
- Travel Requirement: Approximately 25% for conferences, events, and partner meetings.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING US
- 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, key account management, or alliance management in the genomics industry.
- Strong knowledge of NGS and multi-omics technologies, including sequencing platforms and key applications.
- Proven ability to evaluate business opportunities and structure partnership agreements.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU
The base salary range for this position is $130,000 to 180,000 depending on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
This position is eligible for an annual bonus plan to reward your contributions.
