The worklocation in the system indicated "Singapore" however, you will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will be responsible for Malaysia and Singapore.

Position Purpose:

To engage and build strong links with key external medical experts in the designated therapeutic field through developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the therapy area and communicating and discussing depth of science behind CSL’s medicines and develop meaningful partnerships for advancement of science

Reporting Relationships:

  • This position reports to: Associate Director, Medical Affairs, Asia South
  • No direct reports

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1.Strategy

  • Work collaboratively and proactively with the Brand Team to develop strategic medical, scientific and relationship management plans that align with business objectives, through insights obtained from interactions with key external medical experts.
  • Work with cross functional teams, utilizing the CSL CRM tool effectively, to execute the agreed upon brand plan

2.Interaction with Medical and Scientific Community

  • Interact responsibly and within applicable Guidelines (and/or relevant Country Codes) with targeted health care professionals, professional associations, patient organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Actively drive Scientific Advisory Board meetings to ensure knowledge transfer, foster KOL relationships, ensure scientific understanding, collaboration, and advocacy.
  • Actively ensures KOL participation in Scientific and Medical symposia and assist with development of CSL Behring sponsored programs.
  • Facilitate consideration of proposals for collaborative/ investigator studies.
  • Facilitate/ support site feasibility assessments to document epidemiology, identifying KOLs & centers of excellence, clinical practice standard of care and any other factors that will aid in site feasibility discussion.
  • Assist with publication planning and presentations of data at medical & scientific meetings. Appropriately understand the clinical gaps that would facilitate the development of new therapeutic agents/indications.
  • Be a medical/scientific interface with key stakeholders in dealing with product related issues.

3.External Expert Development

  • Engage effectively with the scientific community and ensure collaboration and advocacy plans are initiated and actively managed for identified KOLs/ Emerging Leaders, including the strategic development and field application of standard scientific statements (SSS)
  • KOL Management and the implementation of KOL Plans, having demonstrated agility in executing plans in both face to face and virtual settings.
  • Facilitate speaker development and involvement locally and internationally.
  • Ensure appropriate KOL/Emerging Leader development through participation in clinical trials.
  • Ensure communications are tracked as per CSL requirements in appropriate systems (e.g., CRM Tool)

4.Therapy Area Expertise

  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of the designated therapeutic area pipeline and the competitive landscape.
  • Be considered a field-based expert by internal & external customers; and
  • Disseminate knowledge and share information as appropriate (within compliance regulations), including through internal and external presentations.
  • Facilitate training and education of relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to data gap/insights, and data generation activities.
  • Ability to be a part of the review and approval process for materials (as required).

5.Patients

  • To act as required to support interactions with healthcare organizations and patients to ensure the patient voice and need, drives relevant outcomes.

6.Evidence generation

  • Supports evidence generation and publication strategy in brand strategy with project deliverables and milestones.
  • Supports brand clinical gap and evidence generation local plans.
  • Explore collaboration at a global, regional, and local level by aligning regional and country specific evidence generation plans and evaluate local opportunities to engage HCPs and patients on evidence generation projects

Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Education

Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, life science or paramedical practice. Medical doctor or PhD in a relevant scientific field would be highly desirable (Immunology, Hemo-Oncology, Critical care)

Experience

  • Prior Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry experience (medical, clinical or specialty products expertise)
  • Ability to apply and leverage scientific and medical knowledge is essential, especially in the clinical setting.
  • Experience in therapy area is desirable (especially Immunology, Hemo-Oncology, critical care etc)
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiar with effective KOL engagement via digital media
  • Familiar with data generation/ clinical trial processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with external experts.
  • Demonstrated business planning ability and strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of regulations governing information provision/interactions with customers within the pharmaceutical industry Strong medical governance capabilities.
