Infusion Science Specialist, West
CSL
As a field-based expert in educating and training external healthcare providers (HCPs) on Infusion science excellence and CSL products, the Infusion Science Specialist (ISS) leverages medical-scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and professional relationships with key clinicians in healthcare, homecare, and specialty pharmacies settings as well as ancillary supply manufacturers to ensure the safe and appropriate use of, and advocacy for CSL Behring products. The ISS evaluates educational gaps and develops and implements infusion therapy educational programs that meet the needs of external customers and internal functions. The ISS gathers and translates relevant insights that informs Medical Affairs strategy and the business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver approved, company-developed educational and training programs on the intravenous and subcutaneous use of CSL Behring products to external audiences (HCPs, home infusion providers, nursing societies, patient advocacy organizations, etc.).
- Develop professional relationships with key external HCPs including nurses, physicians, pharmacists, nursing organizations, and specialty pharmacy clinicians to ensure exchange of infusion science information relevant to CSL Behring’s products with a focus on immunoglobulins (IG).
- Maintain a high level of medical-scientific knowledge around infusion therapy advancements across therapeutic area(s) and/or disease state(s) involving clinical issues related to infusion therapies and products.
- Identify practical issues, unmet needs, and competitive insights relevant to the use of CSL Behring’s infusion therapies and work with internal teams through the ISS Field Team Leader to create educational programs, tools, and solutions.
- Provide infusion science education and consultation to internal audiences as needed and directed by the ISS Field Team Leader in collaboration with other TA Field Team Leaders, Medical Directors, and the Field Team Director.
Qualifications:
Nursing or Pharmacy degree with strong clinical experience in infusion techniques, technology and infusion delivery is required. Advanced Nursing degree /PharmD is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, specialty pharmacy industry or home infusion industry required.
Expert knowledge in immunoglobulin therapy is highly preferred.
Training expertise and proven ability to serve as both an educator, and a technical and clinical resource is highly preferred.
Prior experience in immunology or neurology is preferred.
Able to travel up to 70% that can include weekends
