Job Summary
The Desktop Support Professional will work with the Institute of Behavioral Science (IBS) to provide in-person desktop and building coordination support. This position supports over 150 faculty, researchers, students and staff at IBS on the Boulder campus. The team is responsible for all aspects of desktop hardware and software including installing, troubleshooting and maintaining devices such as desktops, laptops, smartphones as well as AV systems. We are looking for candidates with excellent customer service skills and proficiency in Windows, Mac OS, IOS, Android, Networking and Active Directory.

Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Computer Support, Setup, and Troubleshooting:
- Sets up new laptops and desktops using CU’s Secure Computing framework.
- Supports desktops, laptops, printers, and auxiliary equipment for students, faculty, and staff in the IBS building.
- Supports installation of common software (Office, Zoom, VPN) and specialized statistical software.
- Provides technical support for projection, audio, and hybrid technology for conferences and workshops.
- Serves as a liaison between OIT and users for campus computer resources such as E-Mail, Identikey, and self-service software purchases.
- Assists with access requests, onboarding, and other technical support tickets received for the CRS team.
Proactive And Ongoing Computer Management And Maintenance
- Ensures that work done and in progress is entered in the IBS ticketing system.
- Maintains inventory of Desktop and Laptop computers.
- Regularly checks and maintains conference room AV systems for 7 IBS conference rooms.
- Disposes of old computer and electronic equipment using CU’s property disposal services.
- Regularly checks in with IBS faculty, staff, and students to see if their technology is working well.
Building Maintenance And Coordination
- Assigns in-building tasks to IBS student assistants, as required.
- In concert with IBS Director’s office, proactively manages the conference room calendar to anticipate technical support and other needs.
- Manages IBS building electronic and non-electronic door access.
What You Should Know
This position offers a hybrid work modality with at least three full days per week on-site.
What We Can Offer
The hiring range for this position is $53,000 - $66,500.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience providing computer support in-person and/or remotely, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
What You Will Need
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Excellent support skills for Windows/PC and Mac computers and software.
- Ability to work with IBS affiliates independently.
- Ability to optimally tackle problems for high-status affiliates within established timelines.
- Proficiency with remote support methods, such as remote screen sharing, phone support, and text messaging.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or similar studies.
- Three years of experience providing computer support in-person or remotely, including:
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Intune or MECM, or Jamf.
- Experience with an IT ticketing system.
- Experience with an IT inventory system.
- Experience with physical security systems such as door locks.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook shared calendars.
- Familiarity with the complete Microsoft Office Suite.
