Job Scope

The Engineer, Sr Electrical will be responsible for

  • Joining a team of engineers responsible for the development of cutting-edge biological testing instrumentation.
  • Developing novel analog/digital circuits with focus on systems design including motors, sensors, photodetectors, pumps etc.
  • Designing embedded systems with microcontroller/microprocessor
  • Interfacing with software/hardware teams to support functionality per customer requirements

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Specification, modeling, simulation and analysis, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of instrument designs
  • Architecture of electronic, opto-electronic, and electromechanical component subsystems
  • Understanding customer requirements and collaborating with Software/Mechanical/Assay teams to define and implement system level functionality
  • Low noise analog circuit design
  • Embedded image processing and control systems development on FPGAs/CPLDs
  • PCB design for embedded systems
  • Design for manufacturing and supply chain
  • Team Building
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree BSEE or related discipline required
  • 8+ Years Embedded system design experience required
  • 8+ Years Product development experience within a team required
  • 3+ Years Proven ability to execute with minimal supervision the complete design cycle from specification and conceptualization through implementation, verification, and release to market required
  • 3+ Years Experience developing low noise analog signal acquisition systems with SPICE simulation preferred
  • 3+ Years Experience with common interfaces and communication protocols such as DDR, PCIe, LVDS, SPI, I2C,CANbus, USB, and Ethernet preferred
  • 3+ Years Experience developing embedded control systems within an FPGA/CPLD preferred
  • 3+ Years Experience developing motor, heater, and sensor interfaces preferred
  • Well-developed communication skills. (High proficiency)
  • Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills. (Medium proficiency)

Travel Requirements

  • 10% Domestic travel may be required
