Job Scope
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for managing a regional field sales organization to achieve and exceed sales goals in all market segments. The company's product portfolio features a unique, comprehensive menu of infectious disease products and services inclusive of esoteric referral testing services and esoteric diagnostic products. This position directs the implementation and communication of all segment and product sales programs, strategies and tactics in the assigned sales region. Identifies new sales opportunities through in-depth market and customer understanding. Leverages sales opportunities by prioritizing the implementation of sales initiatives. Tracks performance and reports results to supervisor. Supports applicable regulations including ISO, Local, State, and/or Federal Requirements.
- Territory includes the West Coast: CA, WA, OR, NV, UT and CO*
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Planning
- Implement sales strategies from stated business and marketing goals within all market segments.
- Determine appropriate sales tactics to achieve sustainable growth in assigned region.
- Establish appropriate territory assignments to effectively meet customers’ requirements and the needs of the business.
- Set sales objectives for the sales team in assigned region including territory quotas, performance criteria, and professional development initiatives.
- Work with Marketing Management to develop and implement key product line initiatives.
- Develop short and long term sales plans to drive sustainable growth across all segments with assigned region.
- Manage the assessment of current and future large buyer needs and identify opportunities to expand testing menu and services to meet these needs. Work closely with R&D personnel to identify where needs, opportunities and capabilities meet.
- Actively participate in meetings, training sessions and other sales planning sessions.
- Effectively manage priorities to achieve stated sales revenue and performance objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends; analyze and report on key statistics.
Negotiations
- Negotiate pricing agreements that balance the needs of the organization with the needs of the client.
Managing/Leading Others
- Work with assigned Field Sales Team as coach, manager and leader to maximize customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and the achievement of business goals.
- Track sales representative performance to plan and reports results to supervisor.
Timely Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular analysis of sales and product line trends in assigned region.
- Keep sales team, senior staff and other employees informed of key customer activities.
- Report regional sales results on a weekly and monthly basis to supervisor.
- Prepare quarterly sales forecasts.
- Report competitive intelligence to senior staff on an ad hoc basis.
Processes and Governance
- Develop and manage the implementation of national, regional and local account sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness both within the Sales and Marketing Departments and with other departments.
- Adhere to the Companies Procedures and Guidelines.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with applicable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and Company EHS policies.
Client/Relationships
- Maintain internal and external client goodwill and satisfaction.
- Manage client expectations; anticipate client requirements.
- Effectively work as part of cross-functional teams.
Administrative/Other
- Manage selling expenses.
- Maintain proper customer records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Science from four-year college or university required and
- Master's Degree in related field preferred
- 3+ Years of sales management or like experience with proven successful track record of managing a field sales organization on a national, area or regional scope required
- Experience negotiating contracts with hospitals, health systems and commercial laboratories required
- Experience in dealing with senior level healthcare executives required
Training and Skills
- Demonstrated capability to sell or manage an organization that sells a broad range of technical products and/or services to multiple buyers within a single institution
- Knowledge of infectious diseases
- Technically sound understanding of immunology, microbiology & molecular diagnostics
- Knowledge of the laboratory industry and key opinion leaders
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to manage multiple projects at one time
- Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage sales organizations to achieve plan
- Strong written communication and public speaking skills

Travel Requirements
- 75% of the time and may potentially at times require more.
What We Offer
The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000 annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. Beyond base salary, Diasorin offers a competitive rewards package focused on your overall well-being.
